  1. A little late to the party on this one gents. But after a week away in the sun with Her Indoors, i finally got to open up that little box that was waiting for me when I got home. And I have to say I was blown away when I opened it.The detail on these babies is just phenomenal, and in my opinion the bar has been raised yet again.

Along with all the obvious structures needed, it takes balls to go out and do something like this, especially when you take into consideration how small a market it is to operate in. Again, thank you IRM for making this possible. Respect.

There an issue no one spotted with the new A's,  n dog on train

I thought that would get your attention, #@Atn'seeker!

As someone who owns a website and knows how much time it takes to reply to posts and stuff, could everyone shut d fxxxxx up about class A's ,, and how wonderful they are and about the detail ,  why?

AND THUS let the so often called 'lads' (workers) get back to work, i think they spend far too much time on IRM and not enough time in china or where ever there suppose to be working, heads down in a CAD no doubt, or packing plough boxes, or sum'it like that, in my day a Cad was a chancer type. don't know what the interest in Cads is. , got to go! there a dog on a train on RTE news, Irish rail seeking the owner 8.64  sallins to heuston, no doubt cos they want to charge the dog for the free ride.. theres a line to end with

  3. Ooohhhh I've just had a vision of something very tasty. A Class, IR livery with dayglow panels. Hauling a rake of IRM 42' flats.. Bell's of course. Jasus, I'm starting to foam at the mouth. Time for a cold shower me thinks.

  4. Tony, this is as close as you'll get from Wills. I would recommend you go with Broithe's suggestion and scribe some blank sheet to get the look your after.

I ordered a pair of CIE ploughs last year. Looking forward to them. I Don’t expect my salopets to be blown anywhere, but do anticipate these wagons will be top drawer.  Being yellow PW stock I don’t anticipate running them so it may be the display case for the foreseeable future. Weathering May help. But really looking forward to them. The detail on the CAD was mouth watering. No comment re Marilyn Monroe’s skirt analogy. But a kilt underneath would be a sensible precaution.

That reply has me even more confused than I was previously. I'll say no more.

Anyway back on topic, really looking forward to the arrival of these beauties and finally getting to hook them up to my ballast wagons. To have a completed ballast train of such high quality running on our layouts is a dream come true for alot of us on here. It's just getting better and better.

  6. A word of advice for Noel. Maybe now would be a good time to hang up that piece of ladies clothing you're prone to wearing. I know you say they never will, but just incase these little yellow beauties do manage to blow your skirt up, not having it on at the time will save us the trauma of seeing what's underneath.

Started to slow task of cutting out roof lights with my scroll saw, front roof complete and have to cut rear roof section. I'm considering the Slaters Embossed plasticard because I can conceal the corners with Wills Quoins. It also makes it easier to use brick arches also by Wills. The modelling clay is probably a great idea but not in 4mm.

Had to move one of the roof purlins and reposition the roof covering to bring the lower sky lights further up the roof slope. I added pitched gables  to the rear wall where the roof of the UTA garage was situated. This will become a low-relief wall to hide my controller and switches. The project is starting to really form the basis for a great model.

Any particular reason why you feel clay wouldn't work in 4mm Tony? I've recently began dabbling out of curiosity after watching what David has produced when using it.

Whether used on its own, with sheets, or applying to existing buildings. I've found the finish very impressive in the short space of time I've spent modelling with it. And it's been all 4mm by the way.

Which of these liveries would have had the longest time span would you say ?

As far as I know a couple of the ploughs carrying the IR logo could still be seen well into the IE era. So your looking at late 80's until maybe 2005/06.

  9. It's not the first time a comment of that nature has been posted by a certain individual on here, and it certainly won't be the last. But I'll say no more, I don't want to be accused of bullying again. As for the Mk1 GSV, I have two from Silverfox. They're ok, but as already mentioned above the difference in quality stands out a mile when sitting beside an MM Craven. I'd easily retire both of mine if a quality RTR version became available, and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one. At the end of the day IRM is a business, if the numbers stack up I'm sure anything is possible, as the plough vans proved. If not I'll make do with what I have. In my opinion some people are never happy, I'll leave it at that.

I hope RPSI go for the IR points logo rather than the weird IE 3 pin plug logo on the restored 134 assuming it will retain an orange livery, or even CIE broke wheel on B134 if reliveried into B&T.

BTW, I don't see any space inside that loco for a speaker cradle, be nice if it made some noise. :) But the buffer beam detailing bits seem just as good as on the MM models.

Have a soft spot for that livery myself,  always loved the Points logo. It would have been great to see 134 carrying it again. But what's more important is that we get to see this legend back where it belongs, no matter what livery it carries.

Right, with D Day fast approaching some serious thought has to be put into how to fund the purchase of one (or more;)) of these desirable items.

I figure that with every advance order received by the boys in head office, a return e-mail could be sent. Instead of a receipt it would be a "threaten to kidnap note" unless X amount is paid over. This could be sent to the e-mail address used by my nearest and dearest. I am just trying to figure out how many "A" classes the Mrs would think I am worth...

    Next I need a plan to fund a 121 ...or two...or three...

    Ideas will be most welcome.

Have you considered volunteering for some clinical trials? It pays well, and even with the risk of having to put up with the side effects involved, such as dizziness and diarrhoea, surely it's worth 2 or even 3 IRM A class locomotives.
