  2. Ballybeg is undergoing some scenery refreshment in preparation for showing at the Wexford MRC's Autumn Exhibition on 9th October 2022. Trees have had fresh "leaves" added, static grass has been added to improve realism and some minor repairs have been made:
  3. Lovely layout. Particularly like the station. Any chance of showing the layout at Wexford MRC's Autumn Exhibition?
  4. Advance Notice for your Diary: Wexford Model Railway Club CLG are hosting a model railway exhibition at St Joseph's Community Centre on Sunday 9th October 2022. Get in touch if you would like to participate. WMRC 2022 Autumn Exhibition poster.pdf
  5. Hi, is there a listing of the exhibits at the Exhibition available?
  6. Thanks for coming to our show! It was a great success. Some of the MRSI O gauge group have scratch-built Irish locomotives...
  7. Wexford Model Railway Club CLG are pleased to announce plans for their second event in recent months: their 12th Annual Easter Model Railway Exhibition 2022 at St Joseph's Community Centre, Newline Road, Wexford Town. Easter Sunday 17th April from noon to 6 pm and Bank Holiday Monday 18th April 11 am to 5 pm. Donations accepted at door in cash or by card. Invitations have been widely issued. Nine layouts have been confirmed already including: Irish OO gauge: "Rathmichael", "Ballygannon" and "Over the Hill - A Corner of Wexford"; USA HO gauge: "Bushville"; UK OO gauge: "Wheal Rinn" and "Shunters Yard"; UK O gauge: "Prospect Road TMD" and "Little Siddington" as well as a layout from Garison Model Group. A number of traders have already confirmed attendance. Featuring catering at our own "Station Café" and the Pot Belly Café is at front entrance to the hall.
  8. Great project. BTW Alphagraphix do very nice card kits in 4mm and 7mm of the station at Florencecourt and of the SLNCR signal cabins. Attached photos are of the 7mm kits built by John Walker Wexford MRC (I have the 4mm versions on my "Ballybeg" 4mm layout).
  9. More progress on the layout with the (removable) side-scene mirrors and back-scene fitted allowing the buildings to be set out to plan the next stages of ballasting and scenic base preparation:
  10. How will the St Paul's College venue fit in with the likely covid situation I wonder?
  11. Wexford MRC is the only club in Ireland to run two events each year since 2009 to promote the model railway hobby (apart from 2020) and were first out of the blocks in 2021.
  12. Never mind - Wexford MRC are pencilling in plans to host an exhibition again at Easter 2022 17th April all being ok covid-wise. So, not too long to wait perhaps.
  13. Thanks to everyone for making our Open Day such a success. A few photos of Wexford MRC's club layout "Little Siddington" in action.
  14. We had all hoped that the remaining covid restrictions would be lifted by 22nd October 2021 but it turns out to be just a partial reprieve. The good news is that there are no longer restrictions on numbers for indoor events but the bad news is that valid Covid Certificates and photo ID will be necessary to access the upcoming Open Day in Wexford. connollystn: No raffle this time due to covid (to avoid handling money/tickets etc).
  15. Waiting for a Train: "Diesel Depot" in CIE Supertrain mode is revving up for the Open Day. Just waiting for A Class 007 to join the roster of 201, 121, 141 and 071 Class locomotives.
  16. Still working on catering arrangements post-covid but plan to have tea/coffee/treats available. On site there is the "Pot Belly Café" selling coffee, salads and cooked meat dishes etc.
  17. Wexford MRC look forward to welcoming Provincial Wagons back to our Open Day and remember our late friend Anthony McDonald at this time.
