  1. Yep, please do, or post a link to the old list of articles.....
  2. Good question! But sadly, I don't think any such book exists. Let's hope someone proves me wrong.......
  3. I know it's a preproduction model, and it will probably be sorted before the model is released, but the headlight surrounds should be white......
  4. It is! But, I have fond memories of the trains that hauled the dolomite, as I used to holiday in a house along the Ballinacourty branch line all those years ago. Hard to believe that it's 30 years this year since that traffic stopped!
  5. I just noticed your location, Kilkenny. Would you be old enough to remember when they mined the dolomite ore in Bennettsbridge for the magnesite factory in Ballinacourty?
  6. Just looking at the two locos side by side highlights how much better the correct yellow front looks. It's a pity this mistake happened.
  7. I have it. It's a nice hardback, with good colour photos. The majority of the photos are of steam engines, but there are some good shots of the older diesels featured too.... And, it's better value here...... http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Irish-Traction-Colour-Derek-Huntriss/9780711034594

    SSM Sulzer 101

Maybe even some decals to complete the livery, such as the white area above the windows on the front of the cab on the black livery?
  9. I'd love to have them too. They look great. I don't suppose there's any plans to produce more?
  10. Those two were very good value at €80.00!
  11. I think it's a video of them loading it.....
  12. Oh, and don't forget to use a primer before the finished colour.
  13. "I see the logic maybe if there are lot of small pieces being different colours but in this case the whole thing is pretty much black and I think it would be easier to paint once its assembled and prevents any issues with some of the small holes etc getting clogged with paint." I think you got it spot on there....... I think the only thing I'd try and fit after painting are the wheels...
  14. I used to holiday for a week each year, in a house just a few hundred yards up the road from that crossing, in the late 70's, early 80's. These were the last few years of the workings to Ballinacourty. I was barely a teenager at the time, but I'll always remember those trains!
  15. These are the nearest to the Irish oil tank wagons... http://www.dapol.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=22&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=108&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=59&vmcchk=1&date=2016-09-01 The chassis can be shortened when building the kit....
  16. Anyone know where I can get a shot of 007 for my avatar, preferably in supertrain livery...?
  17. I also have Rails through the west, and would like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate you on producing it! I'm delighted to hear that there's more in the pipeline. For me, the black'n'tan era was the golden age too. I'd love to see a similar book on the Mallow - Waterford line....*hint hint*
