It is! But, I have fond memories of the trains that hauled the dolomite, as I used to holiday in a house along the Ballinacourty branch line all those years ago. Hard to believe that it's 30 years this year since that traffic stopped! -

I just noticed your location, Kilkenny. Would you be old enough to remember when they mined the dolomite ore in Bennettsbridge for the magnesite factory in Ballinacourty? -
Just looking at the two locos side by side highlights how much better the correct yellow front looks. It's a pity this mistake happened.

Oh, and don't forget to use a primer before the finished colour.

I think you got it spot on there....... I think the only thing I'd try and fit after painting are the wheels...

I used to holiday for a week each year, in a house just a few hundred yards up the road from that crossing, in the late 70's, early 80's. These were the last few years of the workings to Ballinacourty. I was barely a teenager at the time, but I'll always remember those trains! -

For me, the black'n'tan era was the golden age too. I'd love to see a similar book on the Mallow - Waterford line....*hint hint*
