Has anyone here got the G611 from Silverfox? I don't think I've seen any mention of them on the site. Also, I know there were differences in the actual G601 and later G611 type, but was there enough difference to be noticeable in a model?

It does look worryingly flat when the image is enlarged. It would be a pity, as otherwise it looks good. Also, it's hard to imagin that John would make an almost identical error on this model as he did on the Metrovicks.

Replacing the wheelsets is a brilliantly simple solution..... Does anyone know of suitable wheelsets that could be used?

Gutted sounds drastic! How much would need to be done to enable a MM 141 to free wheel, yet leaving as much of the running gear as possible untouched, in case the loco was to be returned to working order? I suppose the weight of the 'dead' loco in a train would be the issue then.....

Yes, I also thought about this... Even back when the 141's were about to be released, as they ran in pairs so often too. But, it appears from the replies that it's not a very practical idea, especially as a cost saving measure...

I think someone once said that John at Silverfox uses Copydex to secure the bodies. I know the body of my A class was well secured with whatever he used, yet prised away easily and cleanly when I wanted to remove the body. I'm sure John would advise you over the phone, if you want to be certain.....
