  1. Wont happen sadly, I'm happy I was on the last 'official' one - in 1996. The amount of trespassing that would occur now to get photos and videos , Irish Rail just wont have it
  2. Leave it on 4 axles - never notice when its ontrack that its missing 2 axles. Heljan mechanisms are excellent too, good runners
  3. Depends on the donor mechanism - either Hornby 110 or used to be a Lima 117 - or could be something else completely Long term solution would be to use a Replica Railways 57ft chassis
  4. Ordered both - making it easier now instead of piling up the projects
  5. Go - and get lunch at the Pot Belly Cafe right outside the door. Unreal burgers
  6. Have the same, but will be getting a cab swap as the Hino is too new for me. Need to lose the lid on the compactor too
  7. Thats untrue. Can you find something else to chastise please, your whole 'oh thats lovely but I dont like it and neither should you' charade is getting boring and repetitive now
  8. Engineering works between Dun Laoghaire and Bray/Greystones that weekend, so maybe seek alternative transport
  9. Standard craic on almost anything that is coming out of the UK now, they didnt say out loud that this was one of the effects of the B thing. Get it send to friends in Norn Iron or use one of the parcels forwarding services (but not address pal), most UK retailers wont care, Ireland and overseas is less than 5% of their mail order output. Hattons so far is one of the few to set up for Irish customers
  10. It is, official BREL designation was MK3B, same as the MK3 DVT's in the UK. MK3 was HST stock only, MK3A was for hauled stock
  11. Whats in front of it in that shed will gain more interest from this forum though
  12. Mainland? Didnt know Macclesfield was in Germany?
  13. No, they got very upset when IRM arrived offering actual RTR models that were available and done properly. A certain degree of arrogance about both of them which can be compared to a rural Independent TD, how dare anyone question them or make something better than them. Not seen at shows because of this, the arrival of actual RTR models from genuine manufacturers and plenty of missing deposits/models, they were last seen at a show in 2018. One of them has literally disappeared, last seen in Cavan Like a lot of cowboys on the scene, a flurry of initial activity, a small handful of happy customers, then drifted into the mire. No real paper trail either, just a handful of emails. Doubtful it would stand up in court either sadly - no receipts/invoices etc issued Totally different - but similar principles on a larger scale
  14. No longer available either, for their time they were good, but the gap has been well covered now
  15. Not the ones that I saw - they must have liked you or something if yours were good. Have had 2 rakes of De Dietrichs in for 'improvements' and the running qualities were shocking - they wouldnt run is an easier way to put it. But remember they are 'Ready to Run' quality made in someones kitchen...... Can think of 461 other reasons why they are best forgotten about in terms of product and service
  16. Yup, always a treat everything in there, trains were almost a bonus, also the first time I heard gunshots for real, a story for another day
  17. Certainly not, and if you want good stuff you pay for it too
  18. The 645 idles and redlines slightly higher so theres a different sound which is noticeable especially on idle when 2 are together, its not been heard for a long time though, when 141/2 had their run to Longford and back....
  19. That wont help your situation either sadly
  20. Its called profiteering. I've done well on adverts If they were 50 quid each people would give out.
  21. Hmm, wonder why..........
  22. Its Hornby who have a rather poor reputation as a manufacturer of DCC equipment. The Roco Z21 system offers phone/app control and is a far better system overall. Hornby is a rapidly diminishing brandname now
  23. Most of the Kingscourt line is greenway'ed now, the original path to Kells is still there as the line that goes to Tara Mines is part of the original line from Navan to Kells and Oldcastle
  24. 2 201's sold for €500 anyway, they are out there
  25. Been proven repeatedly now that hunt couplings are not the greatest thing ever, the ones I got for my Dapol JHA's were not great quality - at least they are cheap for what they are
