1. That's funny, I saw this guy (improvised high vis) a couple of weeks ago closing the gate at the crossing on my way to Mayo via Lanesboro. And this video was posted in 2009!!
2. Thanks for the comments lads. Detailing is from Studio Scale Models. heirflick, I haven't run her much but the motor seems to be fine. (Hornby Class 25 was used). Ger.
3. Here are some photos of my C Class as requested by Heirflick Body Cab end 1 Cab end 2 Roof detail Grille Underframe Chassis
4. He's also doing the Engine Shed, got to keep him busy:tumbsup:
5. Some photos of my layout and stock. Hope you enjoy.
6. Kirley, I am currently building A39 and for the main lights I used a strip of black square tubing (from a Linka set actually) . It was drilled to allow the LED sit inside it with a small hole also drilled on the side facing into the Cab. Then it can be glued or tacked to the roof. Any light leakage where it abuts the front of the cab can be sealed (I used the black tacky stuff that holds the weights in the Hornby Class55). I didn't bother with the Marker Lights, but you could make up something like this Then fit a 6x2 Black Lego block to the top of this Lego base and drill for Fibre Optics. As there are 8 lights you need the seperate White/Red LED's for both directions. It gets messy but the good thing is that the body can be removed by just taking the top block off the base. I hadn't the patience to see it through but it might give you some ideas. Ger.

SSM Sulzer 101

Just another question, does anyone have any photos of the 101 Sulzers in the Green Livery? I was thinking Revell 360 Fern Green might be a good match. Any suggestions? Can't wait to get started on this kit. . Thank you, Ger

Lads, just on the glazing, I know Weshty has said that there is glazing included and it will be up to his usual high standard, but another option is the oblong Acetate cover from inside the Hornby Class 55 box. It is quite firm and easy to cut and shape. Ger.
10. I ordered a MK3 Restaraunt Coach from Hattons last week and received order confirmation and order dispatched correspondence very promply. Alas, when it arrived I knew immediately by the size of the package that it was N Gauge, (completely my fault as I jumped at the price). When I contacted them to see if I could return it for a credit note, I was offered a full refund which was duly applied to my credit card and in very fast turnaround too. Can't fault service like that. Ger.

Lads, just a point I thought I'd mention. With the Hornby Class 55, the body has some amount of weights attached. When I used these Bogies for an A Class, I had to use a lot of weight to stop the wheels slipping. I'm just wondering will the Brass Chassis with the Sulzer be heavy enough? Weshty have you had any problems or have you tested it on the track? Ger.
12. Here's a tip for using the spare parts from the Dapol Twin Silo Prestwin Wagon. Underground tanks.
13. I have 2 Hornby Class 55 'bodies' (St. Paddy -Railroad range) available. Brand new and unused. Open to any reasonable offers here before listing on E-Bay Both Sold. There is some interest out there for these for anyone using the bogies for Des's Suzler. Thanks, Ger.
14. My Missus would lock the trap door and that would be that! Bad enough taking over the spare room for a layout without digging up the Kitchen:)

16. As some of the Point Motors already have the connections for LED's you could knock up something like this
17. I had come across this site before and had thought it was on the old forum. I seem to remember someone looking for pictures of Rosslare port. I was just going through this site again tonight and noticed that the EGV is the 4 vent version. I built one from the MIR Brass kit and could not find any pictures at the time so used the 6 vent as reference. Will definitely bookmark this site. Thanks for posting, Ger.

20. That Driver didn't look too impressed Anto.
21. Check out these models. I don't know if they came up before, but this is the first I've seen of them with working lights. Bit pricey but would make a nice addition to a layout. First one is the Dublin Ambulance: http://www.kyteslights.com/product_info.php?cPath=38&products_id=237 and this one is for a Nothern Fire Engine: http://www.kyteslights.com/product_info.php?cPath=38&products_id=208 Ger.
22. Enniscortyman, You probably have a blown LED, that is why you have no cab light. My Loco has the same problem. Maybe you could get a replacement one from MM and solder it in. Ger.
23. Thank you, much appreciated.
24. Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the Cement Bubble itself (not the chassis) as I can't make out any figures in the drawing posted on the Prototype site. Thanks, Ger.
