GNRi1959 Posted November 3, 2021 Author Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) Absolutely brilliant, thanks for sharing. I wanted to ask, where my single line disappears into the fiddle yard, is it common practice to run a series of points off this line to form the fiddle yard. Edited November 3, 2021 by GNRi1959 1
Galteemore Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) Could do, but points eat space. With your skills, you could easily build a traverser, or a turntable/sector plate. My next plan involves cassettes- this kind of idea … Edited November 3, 2021 by Galteemore 2

Have you used cork? I don’t think Fintona has much of a ballast shoulder, the horse had everything trampled under foot. Edited November 3, 2021 by GNRi1959
Galteemore Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) I have used cork before. I think that Chris Nevard’s DAS ballast would work well for the effect you want - gives that ash ballast look http://nevardmedia.blogspot.com/2011/08/creating-effect-of-ash-ballast.html?m=1 Edited November 3, 2021 by Galteemore
Georgeconna Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Once fully set, any outstanding cracks (more of a feature with Humbrol Airclay than DAS) Tried that clay for an Engine shed Floor, Cracked up and peeled up, Was not too pleased with the result
GNRi1959 Posted November 3, 2021 Author Posted November 3, 2021 I used DAS modelling class on Omagh Goods Yard but I brush the baseboard with pva first and it was fine
