Couplings and Uncoupling

I want to make the most of my new shunting layout. What is the best system of remote uncoupling of wagons and coupling system that I need to employ.

Neodymium magnets under the track. Avoid wagons with ferromagnetic wheels and wagon weights that extend near the end of the vehicles that tend to produce inadvertent uncoupling

Worth replacing the steel weights in commercial wagons with lead or car wheel weights. Maybe even steel wagon axles, not that I have! Some of my model railway friends put a piece of foam under the wagon floor that gently rubs the axle. This I have done and it works.
