It was going to come sooner or later. Good news for commuters in that zone but sad news for rail enthusiasts. It still saddens me to see the MK111's in Waterford west every time I pass. I believe they are in a terrible state internally.

a real shame. one of the lads put up a pic of the north wall and there was a few mk3's still there. was hoping against the odds that they might be put back in service, but as you say thats not going to happen now:((

Read Wanderers comment on that page.... the railcars they are taking about are now long in service.

 

well spotted! neil is right - must be a very slow news day! why did they print that other rubbish so.....trying to justify fare increases and cut backs by filling us with bullsh.t?

Well at least we have more freight liners to look forward to. Thank God the mk3s aren't out of the game completely yet. It still would have been nice to see some new stuff around as well though. They hardly thought they would get away with advertising new and improved trains just to soften the blow of risen fares did they?
