Weshty Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Good work lad's, Des must feel like a proud Dad. Rich, Too right Rich. Akin to a great young fellah, who went a little off the rails, but has matured and done his ol' man proud

enniscorthyman Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I finished mine in Supertrain livery... 101 I did mine the same livery.lovly job on all the sulzers shown here.
ei6jf Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Thanks for the info re painting. I went with an acrylic matt black in the end. Now a glazing question, the engine room windows in photos always looks completely black. Is this simply down to dirt, or lack of light behind, or were they blackened in some way? Was the glass opaque or clear? I can't find a decent close up photo showing these windows. Any ideas?
Glenderg Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 The way i did the glass was using cd covers. When cut to the right size and put in, i coated the whole of the rear of the window with satin acyrilic varnish, which acts as a glue for the glazing, and tones down the visibilty through to the inner workings. ei6jf Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Thanks Weshty. Any photos I have were taken on the sound barrier line at Inchicore and the dirt is inches deep. Mark
