Kirley Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Thanks David, perhaps you could let us know how things are in June 2015? Quote

GSR 800 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 i would love to see this great loco come to life in 00 and 21mm gauge Quote
Horsetan Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester have the GA drawing of the K2 - click here for image and details, but now seem very coy about whether you can buy a copy or scan for research purposes. Quote
jhb171achill Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Years ago, I got copies of drawings for Indonesian locomotives which I was writing an article about. These had been built by Sharp, Stewart & Company, while they were in Manchester; this museum has all SS's stuff. There shouldn't be a problem. I would have thought.... Quote
Horsetan Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 I've sent an e-mail enquiry to MOSI/MSIM's Collections department, so here's hoping..... Quote

Excellent find! Very useful. I can use this to double check the accuracy of the CAD I've already done. Quote

David Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Don't forget that's the K2 as built, not the reboilered version that 461 is now. Ah yes, good point. But I assume everything but the boiler should be correct to the loco's current form? Quote
GSR 800 Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Ah yes, good point. But I assume everything but the boiler should be correct to the loco's current form? Apart from minor details, such as Snap head rivets and that the dome would be rounded off a bit more, there would not be much of a difference Quote
