For those items not available on IRM website, Oxford Diecast are now posting to Ireland.

Just tried a 'virtual' order, however they don't seem to deduct the UK VAT so in addition to that you will be paying an extra 23% plus the courier handling fees!

Had the same problem with Dapol. Got stung for lots of VAT and import duties. Should have gone to German sites.

Most of my UK orders I get sent to Parcel Motel in Belcoo now.

We are all saying the same. They ship with no vat or duty paid from the website and you then pay that when import.

That was my experience, very happy overall. As far as I understand it when getting things delivered to Rep. of Ireland you either buy from within the EU (like a German site) and pay EU VAT. Or you buy from a UK site and pay no UK VAT but do pay Irish EU VAT plus a An Post handling charge.

The other option is you buy from a UK site that will handle the Vat for you (like accurascale) and you pay irish VAT when you order and no other fees or an post charges.
