BosKonay Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 http://dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=product%2Fcategory&path=179_298_300_330 I wonder would they entertain an Irish run ? Quote
Warbonnet Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 N gauge Irish Mark IIIs? Hmmm, would need something to pull them but might be an option for them. Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 What little chance we would have of getting a run in OO I doubt they would entertain irish n gauge as there are even fewer people modelling that scale in irish. But worth asking them I guess. Quote
irishrail201 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 im not sure there is much point, as already stated nothing available to haul them! A 00 gauge run of a limited number may do alright, but I would imagine only after the current cravens and mk2 coaches sell and the forthcoming 121 which is a good bit away Quote
BosKonay Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Sorry yea, should have clarified they are N. There were some shapeways N bodies, etc, available, could make an interesting model! Quote
RedRich Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 The Dapol MK111's are a finer model when compared to the Farish ones which look a bit dated now. I remember that there was talk of one of the manufacturers producing a 442 class unit some time ago. The inner coaches would have been ideal for a repaint in Irish colours. They have the electronic doors like our own. Never came to fruition though. Rich, Quote
irishrail201 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I think Chiltern railways run mark 3 trains push pull with class 67 locos on the London-Birmingham services, I believe the mark 3's were refurbished and fitted with plug doors. I think I read that Chiltern came over to look at the IE mark 3 coaches but turned them down as they were in such poor condition Quote

Even the windows in the doors are different. I'd run a mile too, if I saw the state the MK111's are in now. Rich, Quote
