Does anyone have any photos/drawings/info on this loco please?
There are a few photos online and some info on wiki, but it seems to have been quite an elusive machine.
Can anyone comment on the livery?
As I understand it, the original livery was black (matt?) with lining which looks possibly straw coloured in the photos I have seen. NCC lettering on the side panel, makers plate at the front (what was the text?), 17 numberplate on the fuel tank behind the door.
In UTA days, the NCC was replaced with the UTA roundel, but were there any other changes?
I have seen a reference that it was at one time painted in LMS NCC maroon, but I'm not sure were this information might have come from, as surely crimson lake was reserved for express passenger locos?
