Hi folks - I'm doing some research for another insane crackpot video and was wondering is there a resource somewhere that gives the dates that each A class locomotive was re-engined, specifically the IRM model A15.

Thanks as always!!

Think A15 was 1971 Patrick but can’t check exactly as my books are still mostly boxed up after moving last week…

Yes - Barry Carse’s book on them, and probably some ITG archive. I’ll look it up when I get home.

C class info is in it too.

The IRRS Journal  - Vol. 10, No. 59, October 1972 has a ten-page article "The Transplant Story" by Barry Carse dealing with both the A and C classes.

A15: Into traffic 24th December 1955. Date withdrawn with Crossley engine unknown, but back into traffic with GM engine 20th May 1971. Withdrawn from traffic April 1995, one of the last.
