COMMUTER29000 Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Hansfield station has finally opened three years after its construction. 29000 DMU 29028 was the first train to call at the station with the 6:59 service from M3 Parkway to Docklands. 29009 is also seen passing on an out of service movement to M3 Parkway. thewanderer Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Good evening, On Friday 28th June Hansfield Station opened for business after standing idle for three years due to the lack of an access road to the station. The Station is served by 24 trains towards Clonsilla / City Centre and 21 trains from City Centre / Clonsilla Monday to Friday. On Saturday's the service is a shuttle all day to/from Clonsilla with 16 services to Clonsilla and 17 services from Clonsilla. A similar pattern exists on Sunday with 13 services to Clonsilla and 12 services from Clonsilla. The station was officially opened by Leo Varadkar T.D. Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport who is a local T.D. in the area. Pictures of the opening are now online at http://smu.gs/10rn7EO Enjoy, The Wanderer. Quote
Kirley Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Saw this on the News last night, the numbers of passengers would need to increase as very few appeared on the first day Quote

Just dropping by in 2025 to say it's a shame that all day direct service on the M3 Parkway spur didn't remain. Now, direct trains only run during peak hours on weekdays between M3 and Docklands. All other times, it's a shuttle service to Clonsilla. I hope that changes in the future. I'd really like to see consistent all-day direct service, especially options on the weekends. Mol_PMB Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago The M3 Parkway line is one of the few bits of the network I haven’t travelled on, so I’m planning to do a trip from Docklands on Friday afternoon this week (I’ll be in Dublin for the RPSI tour on Saturday). I note that there are a couple of direct trains from M3 Parkway to Connolly in the evening. Does anyone know which route they take? Quote
