NIRCLASS80 Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 The 2 SD40's in CP Rail are now sold. Quote
Warbonnet Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Two CP rail SD40s arrived in West Dublin this morning well packed and in 1st class condition. Thanks Gareth! If anyone is looking to get into the dark side I would recommend picking something like these locos up. Reasonably priced, excellent condition and excellent all round locomotives. Quote
Horsetan Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 As it happens, I also have a quantity of Kato US diesels to liquidate. All as new and unused, with detailing packs untouched. They certainly look well-engineered. Quote
Horsetan Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 In that case, I'll put them on eBay. Quote
Warbonnet Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 In that case, I'll put them on eBay. You can always stick them up here too. Only cost would be your time! Quote
Horsetan Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 You can always stick them up here too. Only cost would be your time! That's true enough. There is an entire archive box full of them, so I'll take some photos of each one, and see how things go. Quote
BosKonay Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Plenty of crazy folk on here with a grá for the yanks Quote
UP6936 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Horsetan, are there any UP or SP locos among the ones you are thinking of selling? Depending what type they where I might be interested Quote
Horsetan Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 There are various liveries, but I think there is only one UP-branded one remaining. The last time I got the archive box out, most of the liveries were either SF/BNSF or BN. If I get a chance today, I'll climb up to the loft and do a list. Quote
UP6936 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 That would be great! Just wondering, what parts do you have to install, and is it fiddly? As original genesis grab irons would have put you crazy! Quote
Horsetan Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 ....what parts do you have to install, and is it fiddly? As original genesis grab irons would have put you crazy! Kato engines generally come with at least one (or more) large plastic sprues filled with all sorts of detailing parts - including handrails, grab irons, brackets, light fittings and a good many other things. You won't necessarily need to use every single one, but rather just pick off the parts appropriate to your chosen prototype. All the ones I have for sale are DCC-ready, just like NIRCLASS80's. Quote
Warbonnet Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Anything SF and/or a GP35 would be of interest to myself. Quote
NIRCLASS80 Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 Glad to hear you are happy with your locomotives. Birthday today so got a little Murphy surprise from the wife, namely 111!! Will post a pic tomorrow on flickr. Happy New Year everyone. Quote
