Above is a ex - Translink NI Railways tamper converted into a hedge cutter (which no longer works).

It works alright tony. Some power in the cutter too, as it's hydraulic. Also, very nice photos, sometimes the PWay stuff can be ignored in favour of locos and stock, so kudos for documenting it like this

Are you sure, ?I've been told different.

Blade off thon from some cutting machine off a farming-magig - allegedly had the ability to cut through telegraph poles, let alone a few stray twigs ;)

UPDATE:

 

- Hedge Cutter 1 is receiving a refurbishment (can't give details)

- 0707 has been out tamping on the southline between Bridge 164 & the west cross over

I was thinking of a scratch built 07 tamper model, and building in a track cleaner,

 

but they are very complex to model , anyone know of any general arrangement drawings. I emailed Plasser , but not a dickey bird
