The Aussies had something called a FRED (Field Ration Eating Device) more popularly called by the Diggers the 'F**king Ridiculous Eating Device'.

A sort of can-opener/spoon - a bit daft, all right...

 

 

Yanks had a similar thing. The British had the 'Baby' can-opener, at the bottom, made a bit more sense.
