Junctionmad Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 just saw this on boards.ie https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tosTH63BVgY from the 90s, when we had real trains amazing how rough the ride was at times on normal rail the end bit of the video is different, looks like the neuston pilot in action Quote
iarnrod Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Excellent video. Sure was a bumpy ride on the non CWR section. Quote
jhb171achill Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I remember main line footplate runs in 141s and 121s in the 70s and 80s. At speed on the main line they'd shake the teeth out of your head! Quote
Junctionmad Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 Did he not SPAD the station starter on his arrival into LJ. Or are CIE a little flexible on those things. Bizarre how long LJ held out CTC ?!! Quote
Noel Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Really enjoyed that. What a find. The double movement at LJ to allow pax board the rear of the train was unorthodox! Quote
Garfield Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 (edited) Did he not SPAD the station starter on his arrival into LJ. Or are CIE a little flexible on those things. Bizarre how long LJ held out CTC ?!! Don't think it was a SPAD... the camera is zoomed-in a bit to cut out the view of the control panel. Love the video... brings back memories of getting cab rides when I was younger. The ride was indeed bouncy on the 071s, especially in spots where bullhead rail was still used.
