Broithe
I understand that renowned railway and wildlife artist David Shepherd has died. His legacy involves some real locos that were saved through his efforts, not just the marvellous paintings.
popeye
Sorry to hear that, his paintings are beautiful, just look at the colours. RIP.
Noel
Sorry to hear that, his paintings are beautiful, just look at the colours. RIP. +1 Was he the artist who's famous locomotive scenes adorned the front cover of Hornby and Triang catalogs for decades? If I'm not mixing him up with another steam era artist his trademark was a mouse in the foreground of his steam loco paintings. An incredible talent. Broithe
If I'm not mixing him up with another steam era artist his trademark was a mouse in the foreground of his steam loco paintings. That was Terence Cuneo.
Noel
That was Terence Cuneo. Thanks, now I remember. I was always mixing the two of them up.
jhb171achill
Cuneo was the one who included a mouse in most of his pictures. I remember eagerly looking for the mouse on the new Hornby catalogue every Christmas.... Some of the catalogues themselves are now collector's items.
