I have two 121 locos on order, black with white stripes. Which sound decoders do I need for these locos, EDM645 or EDM567?,or is there any difference?.

Thanks,

Controller.

They were originally numbered 141 to 177
MM modelled 141, 165 in the 141 range in Black,  but your 141A preserved is a non prototypical loco because basically it was a 181 Class repainted by the RPSI
So it would have more modern lights and in a different formation than the original locos
Maybe see if anyone here might swap for a 165?

How to fit DCC decoder into MM 121 model loco

1. Access panel easily lifts off top of body

2. Plenty of space. Decoder fits under body panel in front of cab windows. Carefully remove the blanking plate - do not bend pins

3. Lighting wires under body top make it a tight fit, but gently push decoder in and it will get past the wires. LokSound V5 21 pin decoder

4. Lenz Silver+ non-sound decoder fits snugly and drives this loco very well. Cost €25 from Germany (eg Modelbahnshop lippe or Keiskemper)
