  1. yeah I was talking to Paddy at the Bangor show and he said that they were still a long way off. One of them and a 141 on a cement of norfolk liner would just be magical!
  2. ooooohhh.. that's awkward...
  3. Yeah that's what I thought you meant, but I didn't want to cut into the space for my loco depot! Might give a try though!
  4. Is this what you mean? Because it's pretty much impossible to bend the third track round without it severely reducing the clearance for the loco depot siding. Or have I got it wrong?
  5. Thanks for the tip! Thing is I don't really have room for a double slip there as there wouldn't be enough clearance between the freight yard track and the sidings for the loco depot. I could put a headshunt coming off the second 2 lines... would probably be more useful anyway? Only problem is then that is won't be as long....
  6. Well done! Those container flats look really good!
  7. Changed the plan a bit as I wanted to make more use of the massive crane Richie's building me by having three tracks under it! Also enables to have a small maintenance depot and a little siding for loco or dmu stabling. I'll be getting the controller soon and scenery work will start this summer. Just can't really believe how little has happened since this time last year, very depressing! But can't wait to finally get some trains running!
  8. You're probably about up here. I just want to see something different going past here! Those golden days when there used to be cement bubbles, timber trains, fertiliser trains, guinness liners, mk3 push pulls, NIR and IE mk2s... now we just get the CAFs and the Enterprise.
  9. Yeah we'll give yours back to you and then buy them again!
  10. NIR ones would be great too!
  11. Wrenniere had a few at the Bangor show, give him a pm!

    Feedback

I had absolutely no idea of the money required to keep this site going! Keep it up Stephen! My favourite site online. I am finding more and more that I don't buy modelling magazines any more as all I could ever want in terms of modelling knowledge is contained on here! And as this website is specifically Irish railway modelling, it is far more specific and useful than the magazines!
  13. Cement bubbles now that the model shop have stopped doing them!
  14. Someone said a wee while back that they saw a new sign in front of North Esk saying "Aras Lasta/Freight Depot". I would love it to be reconnected, far too many big container cranes disused these days. Limerick, Sligo, Dundalk and North Esk (for now) all spring to mind. Adelaide, Tralee, Longford and Mallow all had gantry cranes, all gone now (I think) There are probably others too. I know that North Wall did have at least two at one stage! One thing I've been wondering is, is there any chance that freight at sometime in the future could make a resurgence here up north?
  15. Oh dear, that could be that then. Why did they immediately cut off North Esk anyway? Surely they might have anticipated needing it in the future?
  16. Infrastucture? SNCF bright yellow would be cool! By the way, yous do you know that no matter where this grain liner goes, there apparently will be another liner to Cork! Apparently they will use the run around loop or that track beside the quay for unloading! Would be nice to see freight returning to the 3rd city!
  17. Hahaha! Can't stop thinking of container traffic since I saw those photos earlier! It sounds quite promising, imagine two new freight flows by next year!
  18. You could be right about the rolling stock, I might have misheard. And I think (don't quote me!) that it will be going from Dublin?
  19. No I was told that the grain would be carried in containers. It's a bit of a bity, isn't it? Would be nice to see some new wagons for a change. And I was also told that the liner would load and unload by the quay in the runround loop outside the shed.
  20. Heard from someone at the show on Saturday that there could be a new liner train to Cork to June/July this year, and another grain liner to Portlaoise as well! Anyone like to comment on this? Would be class if it was true!
  21. Great show, really enjoyed it! My favourite layout was definitely Wellingtonbheag, followed closely by the SNCF one and Lucan South.
  22. Balmoral station! 'Mon the lads!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Sherriff Street? Gardiner Street?
  24. No, it's not. Do it.
  25. What?! I'm raging!
