  1. Just back from a great day at York Road depot getting work experience for civil and mechanical engineering. Brilliant experience, got to underneath the enterprise and CAF coaches into the inspection pit and maintenance the De Dietrich bogies! I never knew how big the site really was, or how big a scale they have to do things to! On the downside, I saw the Gatwick DVT still sitting in the yard, probably never to be used
  2. Thanks lads! I can't wait to get some trains running! I ran them on the old 6 x 4 layout, but it looks too much like the train's chasing its tail!
  3. Jesus. That is without doubt the most terrifying stomach clenching video I have ever seen in my life.
  4. "I was expecting this to be usual video of 2 junkies caught on camera fighting" That top comment is exactly what I thought it was going to be!
  5. I thought it was their old ballast wagons that were SNCF?
  6. Never had one of theirs before. What locos have you got?
  7. Classic!!!!
  8. Yeah I'd agree with Piko being bottom of the pile. Only 4 wheel drive on their locos, not that great. But I'd rate Roco locos up there with Jouef
  9. Good quality models alright. Roco is also excellent thought, and tends to be a good bit cheaper.
  10. They have got high. I got a 26000 en voyage for 130 euro, now its 200!
  11. That's absolutely superb!
  12. For Glenderg
  13. I was almost gonna start an SNCF layout myself! I was going to base it somewhere in the Alps, where trains had to change locos from electric to diesel. I like the Corail Lunea and Intercites trains, and I could have had 26000s, 22200s, 68000s, 72000s etc. Would have made a nice layout, but I'm happy I decided to go Irish with all the new stock coming out at the moment! Quai59 is another good website, but they don't take credit cards. Also you could try Le Petit Train Bleu, quite comprehensive
  14. OnTracks is a great UK website. Universtrain is also excellent but you have to pay for French postage.
  15. That 's absolutely stunning.
  16. Cheers!
  17. Richie can you clear up your inbox? Says you have no space for any more messages.
  18. Happy Birthday Fran!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Just realised there are lots of other good albums as well on the site
  20. Found this good little collection of photos of Irish freight in the early 2000s. A few good pictures of Adelaide yard, where there doesn't seem to be many photos of. http://irishrailwaynews.multiply.com/photos/album/28/freight_today#
  21. Great stuff! Is that a 68000 I see? I got a Roco 68000 from Santy when I was 8! My first model engine!
  22. Cheers Noel! Hopefully next year I'll have a few pocket wagons to put them in!
  23. Strange enough I got 112 AND a rake of 5 mk3s
  24. Great website alright. 112 seems to have been photographed a lot round Waterford.
