Irish Rail trains on ‘The Branch’
Irishswissernie replied to IrishTrainScenes's topic in General Chat
Yes HG I have had the same problems which is why all my copyright images have 'Copyright Ernie's Railway Archive' plastered all over them and I don't supply un-marked images for free unless its for a Museum or other Preservation group (Don't panic Jim!) It still doesn't stop some people cropping the images which I try to offset by placing the overlay near to the subject. Others even trying to erase the overlay and others moan that it spoils the image when they snip it. -
I have uploaded 30 negs & slides to the GNRI Album today as I appear to have over 100 awaiting upload. This is the link to the GNRI Album https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/albums/72157626756740602/ There are now 1322 images on it so it will be easier to view the new items on the Photostream. A few of the new ones below. GNRI 1960-05-21 Strabane JGD600508. GNRI 1958-05-14 Enniskillen + SLNC yard after closure JGD5855 ref 25j+011. GNRI 1958-07-02 Dundalk 31+ wagon 8031 coprint 25j+069d

Somewhat 'overstocked' with Cavan & Leitrim negatives at the moment so I have added 20 to the Album. https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/albums/72157713642436207/ they are arranged in location order on it so if you wish to view the additions only just go on the Photostream as they are on the latest additions. There is one colour slide, C&L 1957-06 Ballinamore shed 4T LN173. 19 negatives. 3 below. C&L 1957-06-05 Belturbet signal LN998 C&L 1958-ca Drumshanbo 3T coprint 25j+074c

I amassed some 36 wagons from the first 2 batches but on the demise of Glengarriff I disposed of 10 packs (30 wagons) as the projected new terminal layout only had limited space for 6 wagons. Things move on and the terminus has been replaced by the NG7 board but the combined 00 Irish and the NG7 are now modified to form a continous run so I have ordered 2 more packs. There has also been some progress on the scenic extension to Four Masters Bridge but its taking some effort to actually do any modelling. Here is a throwback to Glengarriff with 'bubbles' and bagged trains featured. The bubbles in the sidings were pre-IRM wersions.

I acquired recently a batch of slides taken by someone who was travelling on 2 Tours on 23 March 1968 , ex SLNC from Belfast to Larne & the RPSI Belfast Docks Tour behing Guinness No 1. Thankfully (from my point of view anyway!) only the odd views of the Tours arrived; there are others on Flickr in my Archive already. The majority of the slides cover the Spoil trains plus some views of the railcars covering the passenger service and the odd station view. There are 3 images I don't know the location so I will put them on below along with a link to the Album. Lastly can anyone who travelled on the Tours remember what the weather was like the day before which was Friday 22 March as I think that is when the Spoil trains etc which were taken when it was sunny with some snow on the hills. Others are gloomy which fits in with the usual manky weather on the Tours on the Saturday. Album link. https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/albums/72177720324710314 LOCATIONS NOW IDENTIFIED. I have had these UTA May 1964 slides for a few months whilst awaiting the rest of set of 130 odd images. Unfortunately the 65 odd missing slides have not come to light so I will start adding the ones already held. The 4 below are all Newry Edward Street. Railcar 104 failed on arrival so 36 was substituted for the run on to Warrenpoint and return. 45 was on a goods in the yard. 11 May 1964

I have a lot of slides and negatives to put on flickr with more on the way so today I have added the 30 slides of Stranorlar, Barnesmore & Lough Eske featuring Meenglas on the demolition train and light engine in the Summer of 1960. They are at the end of the CDRJC album (also at the latest photostream upload) Album is https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/albums/72157662649694575/ Click on the above link if you want to see the album, there are now 502 images on it so it will take you a while to get to the last page. A few images below:

I have uploaded a series of 13 views at Letterkenny CDRJC station taken after closure but with loco Erne in steam working on the demolition train. Here is a selection. They are on the last page of the Album which is now up to 472 images with a fair few more (63 just counted them) of the system still to be added. https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/albums/72157662649694575/

I came across these when looking for something else! GNRI SG2 18 which was an un-powered 7mm model built to 36.75? track gauge and cost I think £20 but looked good when posed on my now defunct Enniskillen shed diorama. Also a photo of my other PP next to 18 on the diorama. Finally 2 ex Highland Railway Clan Goods also long moved on to pastures new. I really regret not hanging on to these 2 Jidenco kit models. Cest la vie!
