If the Tramway was an independent undertaking then it would have been situated solely in Eire and should have become part of the Great Southern. They could then have transferred stock from the Cork & Muskerry, Tralee & Dingle etc to keep services running.

On my Album https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/albums/72157711590538817/ there is also a JW Armstrong negative at Tramore and you can just make out the end of a van off the turntable siding which was at the platform side end. There were 6 lines off the turntable, 3 serving loops for the platform, carriage shed and run round and 3 dead ends , one of which has space for 2 wagons on it.

With regard to Glengarriff & Four Masters Bridge Sligo & Donegal Junction Railway on this Forum; I worked out a plan for the Sligo Terminus and connections which envisaged a passenger Terminus at a lower level at right angles to the 'train shed' north side . This then curved to the north east roughly next to the Sligo Quay goods line before turning right towards the Customhouse Quay with a connection back to the Goods station for the working of through goods traffic. The line then crossed the river with either a lifting or swing bridge to provide access to the old quay nearer the town. This gives me an excuse just to to run a local set of 2 Cravens and Generator Van or the forthcoming Mk 3 Push/Pull set rather than a long set of Mk 2's but still able to run through goods trains. The alternative is just a link to the goods station which would the involve a double reversal to enable passenger trains to reach the main station (shades of Limerick Junction !) EDIT. No houses or buildings are harmed in this plan!

I have been giving a fair bit of thought as to how the new layout progresses. I really miss the ability to run trains on a circuit as per the original Glengarriff layout plus I would like a small NG7 layout for shunting. The solution appears to be to replace the part built Mullaghmore terminus with an NG7 /O-16.5 layout but attached to the exiting Irish OO with a new OO drop board across the door and behind the OO9 layout to connect up with the Irish fiddle yard. When I am running the Irish layout the trains will then run through the NG7 board to complete the circuit. I have acquired a new 4K video camera with a 20x zoom. This was used by the Driver of A30 who with the assistance of his jet pack took the photo below.

The latest batch of acquisitions are the work of GMK, former editor of the Model Railway Constructor and he also wrote several books on BR coaches. There are some Irish views mainly from 1955 and 1961 with approx 30 coach negatives among the 90 odd negatives. GMK040 CIE 1961-04-xx Inchicore ex GNRI JT 91 L25. GMK058 CIE 1961-04-29 Westland Row A52 TI548. GMK051 CIE1955-xx Cork 385 A1, trackbed of the former line to Summerhill terminus above the tunnel. GMK081 CIE 1955-xx Cork, 6whl tri compo 159m . 253.

A couple from the Archives which probably havn't featured on this topic before as they were uploaded many years ago. I was looking for CIE stock in the North so this one at Newry appears to feature H Vans the first one being fitted although whether the livery is actually brown which hasn't weathered well over the original grey or its just rusty. I think this is ca1964. Second view is Strabane 13 feb 1965 with a tin van on the left hand line. In the pipeline arriving this week are approx 100 negs ca 1951 -1961, content as yet unknown!
