I actually have some more negs taken at the same time, this one shows the rear of Railcar 19's tail load as well as No 6 just arrived from Letterkenny towing a dead No 4 Wagon number is 316 originally Oldbury Carriage No 19 of 1893 and rebuilt as a van in 1927 according to Roger C's CDRJC Companion. It must have lost the van body in the intervening years.

Having cleared the decks of several thousand negatives (well nearly - some 100+ Irish due this week) I think its time to crack on with Ballyshannon S&DJR aka Alum Bay and to this end the board has been moved from the loft to my den where I can at least sit down whilst constructing buildings etc. I have more or less worked out buildings etc so hopefully can now crack on with construction.

In those baking hot Summers back in the day some Driver's preferred to cook their sausages out in the open air rather than in a stifling hot cab of a J18. Claremorris 7 June 1961, warm axle box failed 588!

I acquired this one off EBay last weekend thankfully at a reasonable price although not sure why it didn't go for a similar high price as other items by the same photographer on Sunday night. 1955 , 7th July 373 Dn Mail at Athenry. (Well its got 2 Mail coaches on the front!) Unfortunately I couldn't acquire more negatives 'privately' as the executor's opted to have the negs 'e bayed' to hopefully maximise their value but I have still managed to acquire the odd one without blowing the budget.
