  1. Here is a negative , unfortunately with a large fault but the faulty bit is interesting in that it is of wagon No 2 which is supposed to be an ex CVR red van but looks very similar to No 6 an ex CVBT Oldbury 1984 built wagon. The ex CVR red vans were Metropolitan C&W from 1887. Any ideas Jim or Andy?
  2. Navan, 22 July 1990 132 + 134 , 2 views. Claremorris 16 April 2000, 212 on log mts stabled in the former Ballinrobe branch platform.
  3. This a recently acquired negative, not brilliant quality and no information. Ideas anyone? I am thinking West Clare but maybe an import from one of the earlier closed lines. There is what looks like a D on the LH of the side but I think that's a red herring (literally not physically!) There is what could be the faint outline of a CIE snail, upper right middle pannel.
  4. Dublin Harcourt Street, D14 63 27 June 1950. Broad & Narrow at Guiness Brewer 27 June 1950, 2 views.
  5. These are enlargements from 2 negs which havn't been uploaded to flickr yet, of an un-rebuilt van on a Tralee train at Killarney 16 August 1994. The van has the bottom black line so possible that the van or some vans weren't fully re-painted when rebuilt
  6. 4601 at Limerick Junction June 2001 , not much help with the lettering but some interesting weathering etc.
  7. 4602 (the van in your lower view) in June 2001 at Limerick Junction. This is the other side unfortunately but look at the left hand end of the body. At that date the orange, black and lining were carried around the edge onto the van end but only on the left hand side.
  8. Dublin Connolly 124 11 May 1990 & 131 May 1988. Limerick Junction 129 12 May 1990.
  9. County Donegal Railways. A couple of views from a goods at Castlefinn 3 July 1959 . Castlerea 16 April 2000, 189. Carrigaloe 3 April 1993, 177 on 8.25am Cobh-Cork.
  10. 11 May 1990 Dublin Inchicore 208. 29 August 1956 Enniskillen 71 on Omagh train. 29 August 1956 Enniskillen shed 73.
  11. Cavan & Leitrim today. A superb JG Dewing view of 6T on the Dromod turntable 16 March 1959. Ballinamore shed ca 1955 with an ex T&D tank having its chimney 'capped' with what looks like a collection of old boiler suits! Adoon , 4T on the 12.20 train to Ballinamore 4T 20 March 1959.
  12. CDRJC 4 & 6 arriving on the Letterkenny branch CA1955. 9 June 1961 , Boyne Bridge 85 heads north on a Tour. 8 June 1961 Mullingar 719
  13. Back in the day the Sligo & Donegal Junction Railway in a desperate attempt to stave off buying diesels purchased third hand No 49 ex GNRI 149. Now do I weather it and re-number it, it had already lost the '1' so it might now lose the '4' and become S&DJR No 9.
  14. CDRJC/NCC Londonderry Victoria Road. Very low black clouds but only on this faulty Casserley negative 19 April 1948. Dundalk 187 17 September 1991. Longford 185, 18 September 1991.
  15. Nice mixture on a Dublin - Cork Liner here at Limerick Junction June 2001
  16. Dublin Connolly 131 on NIR stock (I think, eyes not so good today) 6 March 1992. I have also uploaded to flickr 129 & 131 at Connolly today as well. Dundalk 15 May 1948 37 former INW 44 withdrawn the following month. Monaghan , 14 arriving on a goods ca 1955. I like the footbridge with the stone abutments and girder construction on Plantation Walk. It would make a good scenic break/exit on a layout.

  19. Cork Albert Quay 12 Sept 1960. Dublin, Heuston. 2 views of the Guinness Brewery 5'-3'' locos after withdrawal. circa May 1965.
  20. How many prototype Magnesite wagons were there? I can't find out but the info is probably staring me in the face somewhere!
  21. A bit more done; ground formation and rough back scene painting, on Ballyshannon (Donegal Junction) station. As it also has to double as Alum Bay the stock illustrated is great Southern rather than Great Southern!
  22. NCC 1948-05-12 Ballyclare Bank 70. & also 73 on a goods. JG Dewing.
  23. This could have been an emergency substitution for the Ballybrophy via Nenagh train but on reflection there are too many passengers! G611 Limerick 13 Sept 1986.
  24. The livery on the rest of the coach (s) apart from a small square containing the snail looks freshly done, maybe they just left a square around the snail because they didn't have any snail paint left! As jhb has pointed out the snails are on a small board covering the match boarding.
