  1. Great photos and video, well done lads. I'm going to have to get freight and passenger versions coz I can't choose!
  2. That's a good idea, I will have a trade stand in Raheny next month. I would like to put some faces to the names.
  3. I'm raging that I've missed this, I couldn't make it due to ill health
  4. You shouldn't need flux when soldering cables together, most soldering jobs won't need it unless its big items to be soldered. The trick to soldering cables is plenty of heat to the joint, if you apply the solder to the cable and not the iron it should flow freely into the cables when its hot enough. I'll do a video on it tomorrow if you like.
  5. If your soldering to the track the best method is use a Dremel and grind the underside of the track to be soldered, then tin the track and solder the wire on. This will ensure a good connection to the track. This is what a good soldered joint should look like.
  6. Wow, that looks fantastic Anthony, I love the weathered track. Cracking job
  7. Thanks, I will be making a display cabinet at a great budget price, and a mini spray booth with fan and filter to follow
  8. Here's the trick. I made a compass jig for the router, just cut a square in mdf and mark the centre. Drill a hole in the centre to hold the centre pin of the compass and set your outside radius, then just set the depth and cut, then reset to the inside radius and cut again. Hey presto you got a circle! Then just cut one side and drill the holes for 6mm threaded bar. it takes a bit of setting up. I will have a price list for N and 00 in the coming weeks for the standard radius.
  9. I'll have it with me in Bray this Sunday at the Toys of yesterday fair.
  10. No laser or cnc, just a good router and a circle cutting jig I made up.
  11. Cheers, I can supply these at a very competitive price in kit form or assembled.
  12. A quick pic of an N Gauge Helix I'm building. What do ye think?
  13. You would need nearly 5amps to cover those with a good margin, I don't understand why controller manufacturers are producing products with such a small current output, 10amp transformer is very cheap. I know they want you to buy a bigger power supply to expand, but we all spend a lot on controllers to begin with.
  14. I have always wanted one, They look the nuts! But I want black and green. Great purchase, eBay can be great for bargins.

That is an oldie, would make a nice scratch built project. Weather it to bits!
  17. I couldn't put it on my layout, it would have to go on a shelf in my lounge! Its just too good.
  18. That is truly artistic work, it is just stunning. I would love one, I'm afraid to ask how much
  19. I'm definitely going for the supertrain, I'm hooked! All my English models will be phased out!
