  1. I contacted them when they first mentioned they were producing a new Mk 3 I think it was about this time last year I asked if they would do a run of Irish Mk 3's They said they were looking at the possibility of producing a kosher Irish coach I asked them to keep me informed but I have heard nothing back
  2. I will be travelling to 2 toyfairs in Wales this weekend with Warbonnet of this parish Oswestery on Saturday and Colwyn Bay on Sunday We will have some Ballast Wagons with us If you are in the vicinity drop by and say hello, or buy some wagons! If you are looking for any particular Irish outline models drop me a PM and I will drag some along

  11. We at the MRSI attended a fund raising day last year in Ballyglunin It was a wet and miserable day and the numbers attending were not great but those that did attend were very passionate about the restoration project To that effect we took a lot of pics and measurements and hope to build a model of this historical station to be presented to the committee when finished Scale it yet to be decided but it will most likely be a static display in 00 or N

  17. Just spent 15 boring minutes on flea bay I noticed a FS logo on the wagon so I trawled the Italian site and eventually found this http://www.ebay.it/itm/LIMA-303174-H0-1-87-Carro-merci-scoperto-UIC-FS-con-carico-carbone-/162528937883?hash=item25d77ac79b:g:RSIAAOSwlndZJywx It has a 6 figure reference which I find strange, most HO items only carry a 4 figure one Anyway I can go back to sipping my cocoa now, job done
  18. I know no one cares except me but the brown BR Long wheel based wagon appears in all the UK Lima catalogues with the Double Arrow logo on the side OO catalogue number 303175 & HO catalogue number 3175 Ramseys British Model Trains Catalogue lists it as Continental LWB Mineral Wagon and says that some wagons in the original HO range were transferred to the OO range in the mid to late 70's Some very un-British wagons were added to sets and were fitted with OO tension lock couplings The one in the set has a very continental look about it but I do not have any Continental Lima catalogues so I cannot give any more info on this wagon.
  19. Picked up this Lima set recently Check out the contents OO Loco and 3 CIE wagons HO,with OO couplings, Schweppes LONDON Texaco, Milford Haven Brown steel wagon Strange mix for an Irish set!!!
  20. Personally I think its a mistake to reenter at the moment unless he has some new models to launch Given the cost of them and then further cost of having them built or painted they look very expensive compared to the new IRM wagons I picked up some MIR stuff recently that had been built and painted by a "professional" painter/ builder One item sticks out, 6 bubble cements, heavily weathered, cost was €490, twice the price of 6 rtr from IRM The 2010 pricelist had the bubble cement kit at £25, which at the time was over €35 so I presume the prices wont be any cheaper now I know we have some excellent kit builders here but I would say that the majority of modelers would opt for the rtr version given the new standards that have been achieved Just my tuppence worth, and I am in no way disparaging the excellent contribution that MIR has made to the hobby in the past
