  1. And so it begins people
  2. It is proposed to build a model of the famous Ballyglunin/Castletown station from the film, The Quiet Man It will be built by members of the MRSI in their Dorset St clubrooms We then propose to donate it to the committee of the Ballyglunin Railway Restoration Project to be displayed at their fund raising events etc So I am on the scrounge! Already a good friend from this parish has offered to donate all the transfers we need and indeed any other small bits that may be required. Thank you Des! Has anyone made or converted a D17 loco #59? This will be our toughest item to acquire and we would really appreciate any help in sourcing one If anyone feels that they would like to be associated with this project through donating items that may be of interest or indeed dirty wads of cash please drop me a PM and I will be delighted to talk to you about the project Some more pics here: https://www.google.ie/search?q=&tbm=isch&tbs=rimg:CYjspv0UldGiIjim7e4yU8VVmnYCm1TNKLDGXfEyYOB9FGh0yR1_1sPv6xngjaQfu9hkaJDwSZKhoXzUc5oDcBRqZVioSCabt7jJTxVWaEeS9M-LG2L6vKhIJdgKbVM0osMYRpoyLFFlbtGIqEgld8TJg4H0UaBFBtJpgIaDxqCoSCXTJHX-w-_1rGER3wj4vjlHDrKhIJeCNpB-72GRoRJZuFi1zsMTUqEgkkPBJkqGhfNRGy5bJGXUXe7yoSCRzmgNwFGplWEQytfeDLTFfs&tbo=u&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjC87K82dHVAhXE7hoKHX7XC3MQ9C8IHw&biw=1536&bih=768&dpr=1.25
  3. Anyone remember this shop?
  4. Every weekend is a bank holiday weekend...................
  5. May be of some interest
  6. Extension going in to house the freight trains
  7. Directional on the 071 Thumper
  8. Tried my old Lumix this evening Bit better than the phone, is it possible to edit these pics?
  9. Works on Baccy & Lais Noel
  10. 071 fix for non Murphy chips CV 34 = 2 CV 35 = 4 CV 36 = 8 No cab lights with these 4 function chips
  11. Had a bit of work done on O88 Tonto of this parish at his best One vid for each side of the loco
  12. Worked fine man Just a bummer having to work the headlights individually rather than directionally
  13. I have tried a few different Lais chips in the 201 and they all seem to have the same problem Been through most of the suggested remaps and I cannot get them to operate as per the MM chips in the 201 I have changed CV 32 to 16 previously and had the same result as Thumper suggested I was really hoping for it to operate the same as the MM one
  14. What about a Bachmann chip? As far as I remember the 141's operate fine with a Lais hip
  15. The headlight is non directional, stays in the same position all the time, whether forward or reverse
  16. Prodigy Just stays on when I hold F2 down
  17. With the Lais: FO front & back markers F1 headlight which stays on and is non directional F2 headlight flashes at opposite end to headlight, so it flashes at the red marker end, bizarre! F3 does jack
  18. Both man But I am working on the 201 at the moment
  19. Bachmann 36-557 4 pin, I had the same result with a Lais one
  20. Doc The trouble is that the headlight will come on, when I change direction it remains on with the red rear lights F2 gives me a headlight again with the red sidelights Thumper produced this which is for 6 function, I am trying to use 4 function, cab lights are of no interest Any idea what CV's I can abandon for the cab lights? First, CVs 16 and 32 need to be given the following values. This step is very important! CV31 = 16, CV32 = 2 Then programme the following CVs like so: CV363 = 16 CV379 = 32 CV426 = 4 CV442 = 8 CV458 = 16 CV474 = 32
  21. Troops I am messing around with 4 function chips ( Bachmann & LAIS) I am not interested in cab lights, only ever used them to check for dirty sections on the track I am having trouble with the headlights, I have front and rear side lights but cannot seem to get the headlight working properly Anyone solved this problem?
  22. There is an easy? fix for the noisy motors If you strip them down a lot of the plastic parts still have some residue from the manufacturing process Check out the gears and remove the burr, helps reduce the noise a tad. Though what this has to do with NIR Mk 2's I will never know?
  23. Highly collectable sets Only 300 made and he says these were never out of the box Just checked some old prices and they made £200 + back in 09 when prices were a bit mental He was looking for a lot for them but he also got some strong money for some of his other Irish bits
