  2. That's great Jonny I am delighted you had a go and you have the transfers for the store. Are you going to put lights inside it. It is quite simple. If you are going to light it and don't want to solder have a look at these on ebay. I have used them and they are good and not too expensive http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20-x-LED-5mm-PRE-WIRED-12-VOLT-WIDE-VIEW-ANGLE-WHITE-/290741289196?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item43b18800ec
  3. Great Job Anthony really impressive. What does it look like with the bridge removed as I cant visualise it. A couple of pics might make it clear in my mind.
  4. The mesh fencing is home made and very cheap and simple to do. It is "isopon" Aluminium mesh bought from Halfords or any other motor factors and match sticks or cocktail sticks painted grey. You can cut the mesh with a pair of scissors to a height you require and glue on the match sticks. Very low cost and easy to do. I am currently trying to make gates using wooden coffee sticks to strengthen them. Hope this helps. Keep the pics coming on your progress as I love the buildings.
  5. love the depot. Buses you wanted, Buses you got.
  6. After landing up by the Credit Union, Airforce Wan dropped young Barack off at Leo's for a quick pint before the whole talks thing kicks aff.

  12. Just came across this surfing. May be of use to someone but have not seen it linked on this site. http://irishmodeltrains.webs.com/
  13. I have decided not to go for sound ( one reason being the cost) and I have my track laid on the baseboard (plywood). The sound of the clickety click of a train running around the layout is just as effective for me.
  14. Maybe it is a new marketing feature for Translink. "Travel with a real living Fire". Or perhaps they are having a barbyon the trains for passengers. Typical Translink
  15. By the looks of things Anthony your wish has been granted http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/2032-Dunmurry-train-fire-Second-blaze-within-hours
  16. A fire has broken out on a train at Dunmurry on the outskirts of Belfast. A Fire and Rescue Services spokeswoman said what "appeared to be a small fire in a carriage," was reported shortly before 11:00 BST. It is the second fire on a train within hours. An investigation is under way after a fire broke out on a train outside Newry, County Down. One hundred and fourteen people were on the Belfast to Dublin Enterprise train when the fire broke out on Thursday. 'Evacuated' Translink said passengers were evacuated and emergency procedures were put in place after smoke was detected on the Portadown to Belfast train outside Dunmurry on Friday. "There are no reports of any injuries and an investigation is underway," Translink said. "Passengers have been transferred to another train to complete their journey." Translink said the disruption caused by the incident had now ended and services were no longer affected by the problem.

  18. Helen's Bay railway station is the nicest and most traditional railway station on the Bangor to Belfast line. The station in the grand Scottish Baronial style, built in 1863, was the creation of Lord Dufferin, through whose land the line was laid. His family had their own private entrance and waiting room. The architect was Benjamin Ferrey. The station building is no longer owned by the station. Helen's Bay station The Belfast – Bangor line was isolated from the rest of Ireland’s railways in 1965 with the demolition of a bridge in Belfast to accommodate road widening. The link was restored in 1976. In the period of isolation there was a train every 30 minutes from Belfast Queen’s Quay.
