  1. The 4 oil wagons stored at the former Heuston good yard were moved to Inchicore yesterday. Anyone know why they were stored for so long there and the old ballast wagons and ploughs at Northwall. I'm assuming the cutter's torch is in due course for them now. Hope the IRM team got a good look at them while they were in situ.
  2. Reports are that the 12 CPWs used for the DFDS flow are to be stored in either Waterford or Northwall yard as Limerick is full. There are 10 stored at Limerick and 2 at Northwall as it is. Yesterday around 7 of the 12 from Waterford were moved to Inchicore works leaving 5 in Sallypark yard.
  3. I think it was from the unloading point at Arklow why the tara wagons were not used. At Arklow there was no way of removing the lids and tipping the wagons over.
  4. De Dietrich Enterprise DVT 295 Euro All liveries 1ST 130 Euro All liveries Buffet 130 Euro All liveries Standard 130 Euro All liveries Interior lights – Adjustable brightness flicker free system 30 Euro per vehicle There were the latest prices a while back, they might have gone up a little since. They are built to order so you could be looking at around a year give or take a few months as it's not "his day job" so to speak. I got 3 sets of his 2600 DMUs a while back in all liveries and are great models, fantastic finish on them.

    IRM Fert Wagon

Can they not be implemented like the buffer options on the HUOs, or is it a case of not enough demand to go down that road? It's just that they feature on the 42 flats overall and I'm sure others will ask for it too, if not now but in the future near release.
  6. They're just whipped off Google. There are only 2 ex shale wagons in the tara fleet. Wagon numbers 31026 and 27. There were numbered 31526 and 31527 in their old shale duty days.
  7. Also note above how the wheel base on the bogie is longer and the bogie frame on the ex shale wagons.
  8. Ex shale wagon, tara wagon number 27. Anyone feeling brave enough to modify one of the new tara model into one of these when they are released? Also, anyone know what the red and green square on the solebar on the right side is? Is it part of the e-tagging system?

    IRM Fert Wagon

I know I sound like a broken record at this stage but.... Will there be buffer options with this model featuring the old large diameter round profiles too?
  10. Same, for others whom can't make it due to other obligations, myself included unfortunately
  11. Wrong post
  12. Please don't say Richie is pulling his hair out trying to model working sliding door hinges.
  13. And 075 stabled with a HOBs rake at the first stop at Carlow made it 3 for 3.
  14. Yeah, saw a pic of her on Facebook all plated up. Some commented that it looked very Madmax like.
  15. I hear 074 was taken off Tara duty on Wednesday and sent to Inchicore for it's overhaul leaving 086 as the final freight livery 071. Delighted to have got both these locos on the Branch line tour earlier in the year. 086 in particular with some great performance, noise and smell. It's taken little over 5 years so far but the fleet is almost there.
  16. They're getting a very positive response over on RMweb right now. More so than the HUO launch. Going to be very popular from the looks of it, and think they will break the UK market with these for sure.
  17. Just discovered this this morning. Gives a nice look at the wagons and detail. Love the part at 12:45, he's actually laughing in amazement at the level of detail that's in this.
  18. Got a DVD recently that featured the loading and unloading process of the wagons. Very fascinating to watch, the unloading process is painful though with the amount of shunting required with the limited space at Alexandra Road facility. Must be awful tedious on the drivers. Also due to the axle loading gauge limit on Irish Rail the wagons are all basically only half filled, otherwise the laden wagons would well exceed the per axle tonnage of a 201 loco.
  19. Oh yes Can't wait see them Sunday in the plastic so to speak.
  20. Glad these vans have proved to be a success so far and despite being a risk will hopefully grow confidence in bringing more niche, low mass models to this market space.
  21. This exactly, This time last year a full tank from empty was €50 and in the past few weeks it's knocking on €70. Starting to consider public transport again to get to work capped at €40 a week. Costing me around €90 a week with toll tag to and from work. There's alot of inflation but wages are not matching it. Cost of living for me gone up drastically this year, find myself having to cut back more and more.
