  1. The buffer beam side sole bar difference stands out. On the lined loco its green but black on the unlined loco.
  2. Really loving the green A class. Thanks very much for the pics lads.
  3. I was asking Fran that at the show. All he could say to me in the mass brawl lol, was that they will be doing just 250 of the special edition A1. The rest would vary depending on livery popularity.
  4. Thanks Patrick. Just looking at one of jhb171s old posts. He has 13 of the class listed in the dark green and the rest in the lighter shade with only 046 going from dark to light.
  5. Guys, do you have any pics of an A class with the lined green livery, just to see with and without. To me I thought only the C class got the green lined livery. Cheers.
  6. Have to say a give hats off to the team on the A class. It's going to be a very, very long year for us all waiting to get out mits on the finished product. But I bet the time will fly for team IRM as they get this to market as perfect as possible. I believe Richie is taking 6 months of that time just to perfect the shades of orange and green . I always thought the A class would be well down the road. That first we would see a coach of some type (Mk1GSV), then maybe an E class or C class before the mighty A makes an appearance. As Tony Stark once said, Sometimes you need to run before you can crawl.
  7. Early on Saturday morning they were trying to run a BR green A4 on the Wexford O gauge layout. Seemed to be having issues with it. It wasn't on the layout when I went back on Sunday lunch time. Don't know if just me but the other half even said it. There seemed to be a lack of layouts at this show compared to past shows, it was more kids with Thomas and trade based.
  8. And an oil pump for the roof lol.
  9. They didn't get allocated stand A for nothing....
  10. And 027, the only one to be fitted with airbrakes for the shale wagons. Great announcement today, if I hadn't spent the guts of a grand on the liners before discovering I could pre order the A class I would have paid up front in full, deposit will have to do for now. Nice chatting to Rich and Fran as always, poor lads looked knackered even at 11am. The fantastic Rawie buffer stop not getting a lookin with the A class haha. Some very interesting info from Rich in the buffers, much appreciated.
  11. The Bell liners ran from mid 80s or earlier, I stand to be corrected up to the mid 90s. Yes they ran 40 and 20fts but the 20s were rare. There were even a few reefer versions the odd time. The B&I are mystery to me as I never saw them with my own eyes or any pictures of them.
  12. Floor plan for tomorrow. IMG_1540549162652.pdf
  13. They just put it up now. The 5 packs for €460. Great offer if I do say so myself.
  14. He's just waiting for the lads in Inchicore and the RPSI to finish off restoring 134. There's bet on which 121 will release first. 134 is due to haul it's first tour in RPSI ownership in March or April 2019.
  15. I know I brought this up early in the Project 42 reveal. Given the time frame of the containers that feature on these flats release run is there any chance of the round buffer and Ridecontrol bogie variant of the flats appearing. Looking at footage of Bell liners in Kilkenny, of a full 18 wagon Bell only liner every second wagon was the rectangular buffer Y33 bogie next to the round buffer ridecontrol bogie variant. I know there is the commonality issue with the Taras to be considered too in regards the buffer and bogie crossover. I'll be placing a Bell liner rake order with yourselves on Saturday at the show.
  16. Fran can I ask, will the containers sit onto the locking lugs by chance?
  17. Yes, all had EGVs or on push pull sets the DVT had a small genny. 201s only ever provided power to the DD stock until spare Mk3 EGVs had to step in as 201s are not suited to HEP mode on all the time. 210 was used during static only HEP mode test on a Mk3 set in Inchicore but was decided easier to keep EGVs.
  18. Only the International set were known as Mk3As. The rest were just called Mk3s or the 19 suburban Mk3s with the opening windows and push pull. Our Mk3s were basically UK HST Mk3s fitted with buffers and not UK loco hauled Mk3As which were different again.
  19. I know I've asked before and Stephen did say the Ploughs were still on schedule. Are they still on track (excuse the pun) to land this month? I know you guys are busy shipping the TOPS HOPs and preping for the show next week.

    MM Supertrain Mk2Ds

Yeah, I believe it took a few attempts to get there. I think just after that photo was taken 8208 removed 5408 and put in the Connolly Vallet plant. At the time they said they believed the coach was out of gauge to go North which I found very odd if true.

That's the presenident coach. Actually like that for years at the time. In store under cover in Inchicore. The black roofs started to appear early 2000s. There was even a few grey roofs but they didn't last long.
  22. Figured I'd revive this thread following Accurascale's reveal over the weekend. Nice one lads. https://accurascale.co.uk/collections/rawie-bufferstop Just wondering will they do the Irish variation featured in the photos on this thread? The one at Ballybrophy seems a match but the other Irish ones feature extended buffer pads.
  23. Had a feeling this was coming from the thread a few months ago on buffer stops. A great and much needed accessory on the Irish modeling scene even though under the accurascale brand and I see myself pick up at least a dozen sets. Hope you will also get round to the new small footprint ones that have shown up in the past 5 or so years too.
  24. Surplus of 071s as is, already. Mainly just Tara, timber, BGH on Sundays and Per Way trains.
  25. The other side of 225 (no1 end that was coupled to the train at the time) , the no. 2 end was leading (as can be seem in the previous post) when it was involved in the fatal collision in 2010. It was hauling the 9:30 Ballina to Dublin IWT liner.
