  1. I don't know what it is myself but I do remember reading before that when the locos used HEP mode on the Enterprise, HEP took away around 900hp from traction to power the DD sets.
  2. Was going to ask myself. I think they're the brake pipes that just push on one side of each van like the hoppers and bubbles have but they come fitted. They are not covered in the paperwork.
  3. Just got my CIE vans in work, cheers guys, amazing model. But any sign of the IR and IE sets I ordered too? All sorted cheers guys. Other 2 packs must be on another delivery run.
  4. Hope it stays that way. Them two are the loudest 071s IMO, 082 has it's unique noise for many years but 078 also sounds great since it's overhaul after being stored for a number of years. Can't wait for the noise up the gullet on Saturday morning.
  5. Anyone in the know, know what the locos are for the double head? Last I heard, it was to be 078+082 leading out of Connolly.
  6. Think the ploughs are here.
  7. Part of the Boliden contract when the mine was first planned was that the ore was to be shipped by rail for export. It was a bilateral contract agreement between Boliden and the government at the time. I have no idea if there is a get out clause as part of that.
  8. Was thinking that myself the second I saw the PFAs.They could even do the 42ft versions of them that did coal and beat. Have to say IRM/AS are really making me indulge more in Dapol's 68s. I have one in Chiltern livery and wanted one TPE and DRS but nothing to haul. Now they have PFA Nuclear DRS pack and the Mk5a TPE push pull sets on the way. Dapol should be paying AS commission on 68 sales as this stage. Now, if AS announced Chiltern Mk3s with the DVT and a Class 37....
  9. I hope one is the Mk1 GSV to complete the weed spray train....
  10. The RPSI have requested and confirmed for 134 to be painted in as delivered livery.
  11. No probs Fran, I'd say you wish you were on holidays somewhere. There's not enough days in the week for you guys at the minute it seems.
  12. Ally Pally in a few weeks is their next UK gig as far as I'm aware. Wonder are they off measuring up some nice Mk3 PP sets to complement a summer arrival perhaps.
  13. Are the team on holidays per chance? Just trying to sort an outstanding order via email and phone for past couple of days and no luck contacting anyone. The lads up to something
  14. In the mean time the race is still on. Who will get their 121 out the door first, MM or the RPSI and team Inchicore.
  15. I'd say it's safe to say these will be more expensive that the MM 071s. Possibly in the €170-180 price range if not a tad more.

    IRM Fert Wagon

I believe they're empties in that shot. No way would it have moved that lot if they were loaded.

    Another modeling option
  18. Some interesting shunting practices for the time, like letting the small rake of flats free roll back into the dump sidings after an uncoupled push. Even today locos shunting in the yard push through points to set them if they are no already.
  19. In fairness 26,000 people applied for 100 positions. That's alot of competition. Irish Rail can basically get the best of the best at those ratios, it raised the bar for all applicants to pass.
  20. A final word from us We hope the feedback we have provided to you is of benefit and interest. We appreciate that you are likely to be disappointed that we have not been able on this occasion to take you through to an assessment centre. However it is important to note that only a very small percentage of applicants who applied will be passing through to the assessment centre. You have performed well and looking at the online selection process as a whole (including the online screening questionnaire and the three online tests) you got further and performed better than the majority of people that applied. Thank you again for your interest in Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail. and the role of Train Driver. With best wishes for the future The OPC Assessment Team That's me out anyways.

    Tara's

I mean from point of view of models that IRM produce. They would not do 31025 with the wrong bogie type if they knew otherwise, they would have went with a different running number. Like how they only did the Bubbles in IC livery on the running numbers they know of.

    Tara's

I know the guys at IRM are dead set on detail on their models. Something that I have just noticed recently is that 1 or 2 of the tara wagons have the shale wagon bogies that are not shale rebuilds into taras. I think below is wagon 23 and I have another somewhere of wagon 25 at Limerick Junction with the same bogies. Any info on how these wagons ended up with these bogies?
  23. It's all over Boards.ie too for past few months. Word going round is that they will be leasing 185s. Also alot of talk on the order for 41 intermediate ICR cars to extend ICR set formations.
  24. I know it's a Dapol issue but will you guys be looking into some sort of coupling arrangement between Dapols 68 and your 5s? I wish Dapol would address it as it derails locos out of the box as it is.
