  1. No Timo-originally green as far as I can remember-best option is to paint the interior sides and roof for best results.
  2. Heavy duty plant being prepared for the night shift on Tara junction.
  3. Driver training through the streets of Tara junction.
  4. The RPSI locomotive B134 is seen here in on the wheel lathe on Tara junction.
  5. Maam Cross Connemara Railway Project continues at pace with an early summer opening date to be confirmed in due course. The volunteer’s erected a wooden fence today to improve the appearance at the entrance to the station, Some more 804 gravel was spread on the down platform and preparation was made for the arrival of on site WCs which will shortly be delivered to the station. In the last photo the section signal has been connected and can now be worked by pulling No3 lever in the signal cabin.
  6. Having been inspired by one of Tony Cooke’s photos on the IRRS slide show last night-I recreated the scene earlier on Tara junction….the photo showed a triple header of locomotives consisting of 2x141 coupled to an 001 heading to Northwall from Inchicore to form the evening departures to Westport (2x141s) and the Sligo (001) liner trains
  7. Great show-brought back memories….highly recommend viewing it on the IRRS YouTube channel when it’s uploaded.
  8. Nice one lads….another useful addition to Tara junction.;and ordered
  9. Superb work Chris-spot on
  10. Thanks to Enda Byrne for supplying the 1990s style French tail lamps-seen here in position on locomotive 018
  11. Apoligies Keano30 for the late reply, These are the couplings used for the Mk2ds-they need to be glued under the NEM coupling, they won’t work when inserted into the pocket as it restricts their movement.
  12. https://westhillwagonworks.com/ Yes-donated and altered by a good friend-a similar van was used in the 1980s for moving mail bags from Claremorris to Ballina and visa versa off the night mail train to Westport
  13. Thanks George…yes there was a small amount along the sides but easily solved with black paint-the roof was most noticeable but again sorted with black paint, West hill wagon works buckeye couplings need to be glued to the underside of the NEM pockets-it will cause the coaches to derail otherwise if inserted into the NEM
  14. I have been working on improving the recently released Murphy models Mk2D set, Firstly I removed the roof, added passengers, then interior lights and lastly replaced the tension lock couplings with the Westhill wagon works buckeye magnetic couplings. Delighted with the results
  15. A new arrival on Ashburton grove is this limited edition large logo class 50- 50049 locomotive. Always liked the large logo livery on the 50s.
  16. A chance enquiry at the Heljan stand at Model rail Scotland last weekend about a possible rerun of the oil tank wagons led to the gentleman opening a drawer and producing four tankers-needless to say I was delighted and a purchase was made….
  17. Likewise Raymond…see you at the NEC
  18. Hi Derek Thanks for taking the time to view all of the pages….the layout on page one was constructed back in 2006…and was a learning curve for me…a subsequent marriage and house move meant that Tara junction no1 was scrapped and the mistakes learned from it were corrected and the present layout was built during 2014/15, I did take photos of the layout back then and they were posted to a former railway modeller forum now non existent from what I can see.
