    Regarding a Murphy's 121, it may be best when one of us has Paddy's ear next, to enquire what it would take to get the 121 project back on track (sorry unintentional pun!). Already we've had the almost indefinite postponement of the NIR and early Enterprise Livery 201s for which the tooling already exists. Prayer, whilst useful, may not be enough, remember the Lord helps those that help themselves, so we need to be sure that we as a community are doing what is required of us to make those things that we wish for 'happen'.     Having enjoyed immensely the feature on the Barrack Street Branch on the Eiretrains site, I became curious about the anomaly that allowed the 121s to run bonnet first (or long hood first for any Americans with us today). Where there any other lines or circumstances where this was allowed? -Rob

    Interestingly.... I was talking to quite a number of traders at the Alsager Exhibition in Crewe (UK) today, and the perceived wisdom on which day is the quietest, and thus best day to go has changed from Sunday to Saturday. -Rob

    Not yet but the system is cheap, simple and elegant - much like myself in fact Magnets, staples and glue is all the Kirby system needs - tho' I do suspect again that a too powerful magnet may cause involuntary uncoupling at unfortunate instances(!) -Rob

    In short - yes. I experimented with neo magnets under kato HO track, and found very similar issues, the magnets where so strong that you couldn't push the 'just uncoupled' wagon with the coupler because the magnet had thrown the coupler heads too far apart. At which point kadees seemed to be in restricted supply, my grasshopper mind wandered, and the experiment was never completed. In my case I've pretty much standardised on the Bachmann small coupling, it's 'wrong' but I think a kadee is just as 'wrong' - Just my opinion, and I completely respect and admire those that use and persevere with kadees. -Rob

    On mine there's a set of lugs just above the rear buffer beam that you need to disengage - If I remember rightly, you need to squeeze the sides of the coal bunker slightly. I won't kid you tho' - it's not an easy job, you're always waiting for the almighty KERR-ACCKKK! as the loco splits in two. The other problem is that the chassis casting on some of the Mainline and Bachmann stuff has got brittle over time.... Do I need to mention that the axles tend to split too? -Rob

    Buying expedition = car. Viewing expedition = train. Car = freedom of arrival and departure, but car parks are pricey, on top of the ticket for those paying for a ticket. Train = No motorway stress, especially in the wet, but price of train ticket to find, and you're governed by the train's timetable. I'm still considering whether to go or not, but will probably take the car - just not sure if I can face the rucksacks, and the soap dodgers when we get there <- which was a paraphrasing of an opinion my wife expressed when I broached the subject with her -Rob

    Which hasn't been helped by Zimo giving the UK distribution rights to RailExclusive. Stepping aside briefly, that's the first MrSoundguy 071 video that I've seen on youtube that hasn't been one of ModelShopBelfast's. It does sound well -Rob
