  1. Photos of all liveries now on Murphy Models website! http://www.murphymodels.com/LOCO071.html
  2. Tick the 'stay logged in' box when logging in. It wont time out at all then.
  3. Where do you get your American locos from Fran? Is there somewhere that has consistently good prices and reasonable postage? Cheers
  4. Southern railway Schools Class to 85 Merlin??
  5. Southern railway T9 class can be easily modified to 171.
  6. Apart from quicker drying time, the point of warming the model is that it eliminates that possibility of micro condensation forming on the model prior to varnishing which could cause your varnish to go foggy or patchy.
  7. Try this: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod842206 It's satin finish and it's almost idiot proof to use. For excellent results I suggest you warm the model. Only to the point that it's warm to the touch and certainly not hot.
  8. Will do Kirley. It'll be a while yet. Mainly wanted to find out at this stage if they are worth using or if it was a total waste of time.
  9. He mentions the Bachmann version having the motor blocking the 'daylight' in the middle of the body. Did a bit of searching and the bachmann one also has 2 motors. The only thing blocking the space between the engines on the bachmann model is one of the flywheels that could easily be removed without affecting the locos performance... Models like these make one seriously consider modeling american.
  10. I'm detailing Lima 201s and giving them a re-engine with some Athearn SDs I had lying around. Works well on DC and has tons of power but in the process of converting stock to DCC so just thought I'd check with you guys to make sure it's not a massive waste of time! Cheers for the Link Anto!
  11. Thanks for your advice guys. I saw that youtube video. I think he uses a digitrax decoder. Anto, do you think one of the trainsave decoders would do that job? What decoders have you got in your athearns? Cheers
  12. Hi Guys, I'm sure there are some guys here who have fitted decoders to Athearn SD9 and SD45 chassis/motors. Is there any specific decoder that anyone recommends or are they fairly accepting of most decoders? Thanks in advance David
  13. It's a scandal. Apart from the fact that the coaches are perfectly good they are paying a contractor to take away 2700 tons of scrap steel to make a fortune out of!
  14. Iarnrod, Set you a PM David
  15. It's amazing how literally all of the valve gear works compared to RTR locos where they are modeled in 'neutral' so the radius rod and valve stem do not move.

    SSM Sulzer 101

    Looking good Des!
  17. There will be full roof detail. We're not intending on offering the EGV parts as a kit because Studio Scale Models already offer one. Our RTR EGV will be a hornby or lima donor coach with my own design overlays and finishing and in the case of the enterprise version, will have the appropriate coupling system to connect to the De Dietrich stock.
  18. Hi 171, Thanks! Yes the EGV is an overlay.

    DART Model

All I can say is watch this space It's still at the planning stage.
  20. Cheers guys! Finally have them nearly up and running. Took a total rework of the CAD to her to this stage with just one or two more tweaks to be made. Because there are already a good few orders for these, there will not be a finished prototype. When the first production model is finished I will post detailed photos. Feel free to ask any questions!
  21. Apologies for quality. Will upload more later.
  22. If you close it properly every time it should last a number of years. It will also need to be stirred every time before use. Oh, and you need to thin it with Cellulose thinners. White spirit will not work. Also, make sure the cellulose is the first coat of paint to go on the model because it will melt other types of paint.
