  1. Worth a few minutes of a listen. http://www.rte.ie/radio1/today-with-sean-o-rourke/#2253485
  2. George W Bush was a fan.
  3. There were some 0-10-2s about..?
  4. I use Imgur for posting pictures on here and elsewhere - it works well, though they have just revamped it for no apparent reason and it's taking me a while to find where things have moved to.
  5. Only when my chips are wrapped in it - too poor otherwise.
  6. Ah, so it'll be coming with a transfer sheet and it's got windows, that narrows it down...
  7. It's a turfburner set, with 21mm track and Kingsbridge station.
  8. Despite being under perpetual threat, Ballybrophy seems to be getting busier lately. It's certainly harder to park, these days.....
  9. A lot of early stuff will always look 'modern'. B58, Starfighter, etc. Hard to believe it's sixty years ago.
  10. Perhaps we need to start a thread for your interesting recipe ideas..?
  11. Otto Skorzeny had a place in Kildare - "the most dangerous man in Europe"...
  12. Especially when the Republic starts driving on the right.
  13. It would be simpler to just replace the dual gauge track section on the Boyne Viaduct. There's enough distance there to jack the wheels in and out without stopping to do it.
  14. I thought I might provoke you - there is quite a bit of variety.
  15. This detail of the coupling of the passenger wagons at Stradbally may be of interest.
  16. Diesels were in operation, also. The peace conference begins...
  17. In the excitement of touring the interior of Stradbally Cathedral, I failed to take any pictures of it. It will be a vast improvement on the existing facilities - and will be the second largest train servicing facility in Laois. Steam traction was the order of the day.
  18. A few men were on the charge sheet at the end of the day..... I would suspect that there could have been 50 to 100 attendees. Some more pictures. Not an ideal item to have in the boot at a checkpoint in the Port Laoise area... The weather held, though there was a fair breeze at times - a few brief showers did occur. Reinforcements arrived.
  19. Guarding of supply routes was taken seriously. Troop trains arrived regularly. ..and departed. Multi-national instruction was provided by civilian staff.
  20. Well, that was an interesting day. Crowd control equipment was available, if things got out-of hand. Not everybody had got the hang of camouflage theory.... Headquarters had been established. Not having a valid ticket was looked on very badly. Hostilities were not continuous.
  21. The midday Heuston to Cork has failed at Ballybrophy - it seems like it might still be there now..
  22. On Juke Box Jury they used to just say "Oi'll give it foive"...
  23. I prefer the term Sci-Fi, I thought you could be straying into political territory there...
