  1. Glued ballast does exist in the real world, too. And this at Dawlish.
  2. Could you avoid that issue with LED strips around the lid, shining down into the cabinet?
  3. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-35903343 Cops called to get extra passengers off train.....
  4. Great stuff. Of course, there is also Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/KillymardElectricMineRailway/?fref=ts - for those that want to be kept up-to-date regularly...
  5. That's my understanding, too - the centre-lines remain the same, regardless of the track gauge - it's only a loading gauge change that would cause an issue.
  6. I could also be tempted to go to 21mm - if it was possible to do it without becoming suicidal.
  7. These four and a tube of grease will cover most applications. http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/3663-Loco-maintenance?highlight=lubricant

  12. I don't now if they're still there, but there used to be "Trains may pass at speed" signs on the wall in Heuston, right by the buffers.
  13. Ballybrophy had this... ..replaced by this, before it could be corrected.
  14. The real one is only a few miles from me here, I was there last year - I can remember when you could still drive over it. Edit - Mmm, it says here that it was closed to traffic in 1935, but I have a clear memory of taking a motorbike over it in 1976/7. http://www.ironbridge.org.uk/collections/the-iron-bridge/conservation-and-restoration/
  15. It says it's about 1:450 - 86x37x42mm (3.4x1.5x1.7 inches). http://severnmodels.com/epages/eshop1179816.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/eshop1179816/Products/S1
  16. For a good while, I've been meaning to get a small cutting mat for the travelling toolbox. Today I saw this for £5 and decided to bite the bullet - the knife is actually surprisingly good, too, with ten spare resharpenable blades, also. The fitted blade is spring-retractable by means of a "squeeze-clip" and there's a guard to prevent accidental activation. The cutting mat is a good bit thicker than the usual variety - 200 x 130 mm. Useful, if you're on the move - or pushed for space.
  17. The tool sets are almost jewelry. Lovely stuff.
  18. Five Lamps Art Festival has a Drawing Carriage on the Wexford train. http://www.fivelampsarts.ie/new/ All drawings are expected to be the right way up.
  19. Please don't overdo the warming of the can - I don't want to be responsible for the sort of thing that happened a couple of hundred yards away from my house on Wednesday.... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/12180646/Stafford-fire-warehouse-blaze-threat-to-thousands-of-litres-of-oil.html
  20. Maybe try warming the can (a little bit!) and spraying from slightly further away - practice on some unimportant things..?
  21. Health & Safety - 'twould be better with a Hiab.
  22. Will I being seeing them at the Stafford fairs...?
