  1. Perhaps we need to start a thread for your interesting recipe ideas..?
  2. Otto Skorzeny had a place in Kildare - "the most dangerous man in Europe"...
  3. Especially when the Republic starts driving on the right.
  4. It would be simpler to just replace the dual gauge track section on the Boyne Viaduct. There's enough distance there to jack the wheels in and out without stopping to do it.
  5. I thought I might provoke you - there is quite a bit of variety.
  6. This detail of the coupling of the passenger wagons at Stradbally may be of interest.
  7. Diesels were in operation, also. The peace conference begins...
  8. In the excitement of touring the interior of Stradbally Cathedral, I failed to take any pictures of it. It will be a vast improvement on the existing facilities - and will be the second largest train servicing facility in Laois. Steam traction was the order of the day.
  9. A few men were on the charge sheet at the end of the day..... I would suspect that there could have been 50 to 100 attendees. Some more pictures. Not an ideal item to have in the boot at a checkpoint in the Port Laoise area... The weather held, though there was a fair breeze at times - a few brief showers did occur. Reinforcements arrived.
  10. Guarding of supply routes was taken seriously. Troop trains arrived regularly. ..and departed. Multi-national instruction was provided by civilian staff.
  11. Well, that was an interesting day. Crowd control equipment was available, if things got out-of hand. Not everybody had got the hang of camouflage theory.... Headquarters had been established. Not having a valid ticket was looked on very badly. Hostilities were not continuous.
  12. The midday Heuston to Cork has failed at Ballybrophy - it seems like it might still be there now..
  13. On Juke Box Jury they used to just say "Oi'll give it foive"...
  14. I prefer the term Sci-Fi, I thought you could be straying into political territory there...
  15. That does look like an exhibit from the trial of a serial killer.
  16. I'm planning a seaborne invasion on Thursday, striking inland, then re-grouping for some mopping-up operations on Sunday.
  17. Intrigued by the mention of Italians, very rare at this sort of event....

Is it worth having easily visible advice for the less persistent users who may turn up and find themselves "locked-out"?

Ticking the Remember Me box has kept me in.

Same here - I logged out and wouldn't have found the way back without that hint - phew...! I'm 'remembered' now - I hope. The login box just doesn't come up, unless you follow the line above from TDR.
  21. This looks quite interesting - I will make an effort to attend.

Has the 'style' changed? It does all look a bit 'sharper' to me...

Excellent work - have a cup of tea - and some money from me at some convenient point.......
  24. Perhaps the most most perceptive assessment of England's performance is here - not for the easily offended or squeamish. http://www.joe.co.uk/sport/bbc-broadcaster-goes-on-astonishing-foul-mouthed-rant-after-englands-euro-2016-exit/69676
