  1. Excellent. I look forward to a Midlands excursion one day...
  2. You can do it with one DC controller, by isolating sections of track, so that you can select which engine you are controlling at the time. Or, if you are DCC, then you have no problem.
  3. This is next weekend, if you're passing by. Allegedly the biggest show in the Midlands, after Warley, and a lot more civilised. If you do go, beware of the boggy car-parking. It was quite an issue a few years ago. I was up there a couple weeks ago and it was fairly soft then. Also check for motorway roadworks. Not too much of an issue at weekends, but the odd slip-road closure has occurred, though mostly at night. And avoid driving through Stafford itself - it's a minefield. The A34 to the south of the town, in particular, is virtually impassable.
  4. Tie them to lampposts on Salthill Prom during the next big storm.
  5. New rolling stock on view at the Westport celebrations.
  6. There's an offer not to be sniffed at.
  7. Will the pneumatics actually work for loading and unloading? Is 00 scale cement powder available?
  8. Maybe IRM will do some N stuff soon.....
  9. Lovely. I've always said that if I ever have twins, they're going to be called Regan and Carter. The chap who played Haskins in The Sweeney was in our local outdoor Shakespeare do one year - unfortunately, it wasn't King Leer, which features the character of the King's daughter, Regan...
  10. Some previous chat about gradients - and an even more previous one referred to in the second post. http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/3739-Gradients?highlight=gradients
  11. Perfection, we are prepared to wait for....
  12. Is that grass that's actually growing in the joints - or possibly just the remains of strewn straw?
  13. The Royal Mail restrictions are quite complicated. http://www.royalmail.com/business/help/sending/restricted-goods
  14. Ratio do a kit for what they call a Cattle Dock. I've always called them Cattle Banks, though I've not had many conversations about them.
  15. Ballybrophy's was still extant in 2008.
  16. Or get an http://imgur.com/ account - you can post direct from there - after you have revolved any that need revolving. All my own pictures on here arrive that way.
  17. My source reveals that €30,000 has been allocated to repair and upgrade the road junctions either side of Ballybrophy bridge - they can be rather exciting at times, especially trying to turn right from the southern side of the bridge.
  18. The track is the same 00 will run on H0 and vice versa. The scale difference is about 10% - it is noticeable, but whether it's too much difference is up to you. H0 road vehicles are less of a problem than H0 rolling stock, from an appearance point of view.
  19. I suspect it was probably a Pendelino, but one imagines there was 'pressure' to keep things running...
  20. Mmmm, this could have been rather more serious - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-35401921 .
  21. Us mere mortals can't edit after a while - 24 hours, I think - but, people will cope, it's clear enough from the above.
  22. Some comments from the island - https://mers.org.im/blog/articles/view/id/207/Douglas%20Horse%20Tramway%20-%20Manx%20Residents%20Have%20Their%20Say
  23. Alton Towers is cutting down the amount of time it's open this year. Partly as a result of last year's disastrous collision, but I get the impression it's been dropping off a bit there anyway..
