The landscape is hiding one of two planned Helix leading to a subterranean fiddle yard, at least that's the plan, trains disappear into the tunnel down the helix and park up for a while and a different train appears at the station. -
Looking forward to seeing this progress

Thank you all for the encouragement, but most of the credit must go to YouTube -

I have a full set of yellow flying snail decals, numbers etc for grey livery GM 121, I'm not going to use them, it is a shame to waste them, they are quite nice. Does anybody need them ?

Get yourself some cheap loco bodies on eBay and get some practice at it, when you have mastered some skills, then tackle some of your good stuff, but I agree it is addictive. The nice thing about Irish locos is that it is hard to overdo it, they were manky most of the time,

I got an IRM 121 kit, an sw1500 doner a couple of CIE lorries, a P&T lorry and a heap of other stuff, will somebody please buy up all his second hand Irish stock before I end up in the poor house, I even contemplated buying the old Jouef CIE loco for posterity, (my first train set) but better Council pervaled.

A lot of Cyril Fry's models were liveried with the correct paint which he got from Inchicore, but as somebody said earlier, correct colour may not scale down very well, I go with " paint what you see " but that doesn't work with b&w or poor quality photos.

That is beautiful, I am about to start one myself, scratch build superstructure on a fiberglass hull which I found on eBay, Can I ask how you did those double rivet lines on the hull , they look fantastic. By the way, there are four episodes on Vital Spark on YouTube I watched them last weekend. Regards Mark. -
Hi Freda, there is a shop in the Stock Market Arcade in Gorey who deal in retro toys and trains, they might be able to help you out, I don't have any more details but somebody on here will. Regards Mark.

Watching it right now, great stuff

Shapeways are all there is for n, they are tricky, I played around with them a couple of years ago, gave them away in the end. Best to start with the a or c class, the hand rails on the GMs are impossible.

I have done B113 black/ yellow board, I would love to do one in every livery, it a pity that there were more livery's than locos lol.

I have seen N gauge layouts, some look really great, but using ready to run stock, it is kit bashing Irish stuff that caused my frustration, the shape ways stuff is nice, but of course I was trying to fit loco lights and all that, I'm sure had I kept it simple I would have had more success, mettcalfe buildings looked really good, I just got annoyed with the finiky engineering.

I'm fairly sure that I have one knocking about somewhere, not sure what kind of knick its in, I have some shapeways loco bodies too, a few points, coaches, some wagons, tiny little cars too, I played around with N Gauge a couple of years back and gave up out of frustration, just too bloody small for me to work with, anyhoo, yours if 1, I can find them 2,if you want them.
