  1. I was thinking that myself, I wonder how easy it would be to build as a model.
  2. I have known Mick man and boy which is more years than I care to remember, but if you think this is good, let me tell you he has also built four Backwoods Miniatures Lynton and Barnstaple 2-6-2T's and the Baldwin 2-4-2T in 009 and they run just as sweet. The last time I spoke to him he had just acquired a set of Worsley Works Donegal class 5 etches in 3mm scale and some code 40 rail as an experiment, but I have to admit that was in 2019 just before Covid took hold.
  3. what if any 141 have been preserved to date?
  4. Just over 8ft long. Oh well another thing to put on the Lottery win wall of must haves.
  5. Really! It looks bigger than that. I guess that if I wanted one it would need to be done in 4mm scale. But just out of interest do you have an approximate size length wise in 4mm? Thanks
  6. Dire I ask about the Chetwynd viaduct kit and which parts of the body do I need to get removed to pay for it .
  7. Bandon tanks er? well SSM do an etched kit, or I wonder if anyone makes a 3D print of them the problem with that is then fining a chassis for the body, they are no doubt a fine looking loco, but I don't think I could do with just one, plus I do wonder how I can justify them running into Downpatrick except for some sort of religious festival of which I am not aware of.
  8. Well the first bit of the rolling stock turned up to day and it is a Bachmann BR Mk1 BG coach in green, I know its not quite right, but at least it will keep the Park Royals company for now. Just got to figure out a way to install 21mm gauge wheelsets. I think there has been an article on how to convert one of these to it Irish sister.
  9. October But which one? Seriously I hope it is something which there where many of in the class and with a few tweaks you could produce a few variations on a theme hopefully it might be any one of the following :- Great Southern & Western Railway Class 101 or GSR Class J15 Or others could be the U2 or the W or WT NCC locos the W and WT i think have many common parts From the GNR(I) you could have SG, SG2 or the SG3 again some parts are interchangeable From South of the boarder you could have the classes 372 and 393 both 2-6-0 ex-Woolwich SR designs now this could fit in with a new accurascale model if they ever decide to make one, the only thing is I think the running boards may need to be wider for the Irish versions of these locos. Then of course everyone will want a class 800 wont they? The biggest problem I see for anyone making a Irish steam loco RTR model is the numbers in each prototype class.
  10. Thanks, I did see from a fly over google of inchicore that it looks like there are a number of older bogies carriage in store does anyone have any more details on them please. Thanks Colin
  11. So what old locos are still at Inchicore being used as a sound barriers?
  12. Thanks guys, the next question to ask is I wonder it the bogies will become a separate items at some stage
  13. Something I should has asked before ordering but any of you guys know if the park royals will gauge out to 21mm?
  14. HI guys I am thinking outside of the box here. I wonder if a deal could be done so that John produces a run of say 20 wagons of each type and IRM could then do the importing and distribution bit, I wonder if that could bring the postage cost down to make it viable for a lot more of us to encourage this sort of joint working, what do you all think could it work? Colin
  15. The above station has always appealed and given I had the space needed would make a great model.
  16. I have wanted to model Derry/Londonderry for well over 20 odd years, but I have never had the space to do it justice. Also not living in the area had made it difficult to not do a survey and to get a feel for the site. The hardest bit for me is to try and work out the various heights from water level up to the trackbed and then on up to the road level, you can only get so much detail from maps. Colin
  17. Great Stuff, thanks for doing this
  18. That is why they have turned to TT:1:120 scale as no one else is doing anything yet, but there isn't enough out there to make me switch yet. I should say I already model OOn3 so I would hope that not before to long the 08/09 Diesel 0-6-0 will be out. That should give some some food of kit bashing.
  19. Hi guys a just a short film on tic tok I hope it works https://www.facebook.com/dave.v.munday/videos/6276147315742236/?idorvanity=418992338717208
  20. Hi Jon this could not have happen at a better time for me really since if things work out how I hope to be moving and I can see myself having a gauge 1 garden layout with more that a hint of Irish flavour to it
  21. I think we are just about to find out
  22. Another photo for you
  23. Hi Guys I think I am having one of those days when the computer does not like me I can't for the life of me find a photo or even better still an OO scale Guinness van wagon. I am sure someone made them ages ago but do you think I can find them? Colin
