  1. Back orders of MRJ now on there way to me, I just wonder if there would be enough interest to do a book on past Irish models and modellers, for me I know these people by name but it would be great to have more details of what they have done.
  2. This could get expensive again, thanks for that I should add they also do a NNC loco kit as well as Harland & Wolff 0-6-0DM LMS 7057/NCC 22
  3. If you can't wait but fancy a brass kit see this one https://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/catalogue/judithedge.html 4mm scale £110.00
  4. A lot of the photos where sold at auctions in the UK so have got split up I think the Industrial Railway Society may have acquired a few of them.
  5. Anyone got some photos of his models they care to put on here? Colin
  6. I wonder if Bill Bedford still has them, I guess that as etching has changed, he might need to make some new etched masters.
  7. Sometimes the name and a certain layout do not alway come to mind at the same time, had a similar experience at an exhibition with the late Ian Rice, I knew the face but could I remember his name at the time no how embarrassing that is.
  8. Hi John Thanks for that as it clears up one mystery for me, I have wondered for some time what happen to David Walker, so as he is no longer with us again I wonder what happen to that layout, I guess that unless anyone took an interest in it, it may well have ended up in the local council skip. As for Richards big layout I don't recall seeing to many photos of it in full operation or any articles, I understand he used to produce a magazine about it, but again I have never seen any of those, I just wonder if there is enough information about his layout weather or not a a book like the white series from Wild Swan could be viable?
  9. So If I have this right Tony's first layout still exists somewhere in Ireland and his second Adavoyle layout is now with the South Dublin Club is that right?
  10. They are great looking models, thanks for sharing them on here
  11. Hi Guys The other day I was looking at someones Blog on the internet and it happen to mention the late Richard Chown's layout Castle Rackrent, this in turn got me thinking I wonder what happen to all his 7mm Irish locos, rolling stock plus of course his layouts. Does any one have that information or have anything to add to this?
  12. It is a funny gauge 12mm you have the Irish/IOM 3ft gauge stock for 00n3 then you have HOm Meter gauge stock from Mainland Europe then you have HOn3 American Modelling using 10.5mm gauge. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_ft_gauge_rail_modelling I am not sure if you will ever get all three to work out of the box on the same gauge, we can but try, I have 4 Roundhouse HOn3 2-8-0 Tender loco kits awaiting building for 12mm gauge. To be honest what we have kit wise is not bad and I would hate it if went down the same road that 009 is now going, so many good looking models but for their size dammed expensive in RTR. The down size is that the 009 kit manufactures are now also increasing the costs of kits.
  13. That I don't know but it is funny that die hard 009 modellers have all of a sudden started to think in terms of the new TT1:120 Hornby 08 diesel shunter loco as narrow gauge loco bashing (its not even released yet) but I have been told that pre-demand is very heavy for the model. If Hornby continue to produce suitable 00n3/ TT1:120 size chassis's then why not, I have it on good authority that one 3D printer guy has a load of designs ready to go once the chassis becomes available.
  14. I know it has been said before but I would really like a 12mm gauge 2-6-0T Dingle style loco
  15. Sadly a local Charity manager who knows I am in to all things railways has asked me to go and look at someones collection who has recently passed on, his kids where about throw it all in the skip, but I suggested they get someone in who can give them a fair price for it all, which they did, but now I hear the son thinks it is a pot of gold and is asking really silly money for some of the collection. I have to be honest about this I don't have a clue who I could leave all my model railway stuff to or the book collection, as for the rest of it, I think it would be classified as old tat.
  16. It might sound cruel, but you gotta hand it to IRM by leaving you all wanting more
  17. Is this for real? eBay item number:354516529745
  18. May be it is this which will get revealed Or this:- or last one how about this?
  19. The Irish starter pack good thinking Spudfan
  20. So when did you win the euro lottery if they are steam locos then
  21. This could be expensive then..... wait... I see my bankmanger has just told me I need to file for bankruptcy if I want every one
  22. So just how many blue 4-4-0 can you have?
  23. I was trying not to speculate on what it could be, but as hard as it is not to do so I would guess it is something which is on the network today, or may be the original DART sets? As much as I would love a steam loco I can't see that happening, could be the C class locos to follow on from the A's
  24. I had forgotten about that one
