Curious, looks like the tankers went on the flats.... issues with putting the tanks in the pockets?

Possibly, but there are tanks in some of the pockets also. I also thought that inter-modal trains in Ireland always consisted of eighteen wagons as this is what IÉ consider a viable train load?

Freight trains generally comprise of wagons that add up to 36 TEU (Twenty foot equivalent units). Pocket wagons and 62.9 foot bogies are considered 3 TEU, all other bogie freight liners are 2 TEU and 4 wheelers are considered 1 TEU. You could have any combination of the above.

 

My understanding of the pocket wagon brakes is that they are air braked and vacuum piped meaning only the air acts on the brakes and the vacuum is just piped straight through so vacuum stock would always be at the rear of the train.
