Basil Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Picked this up the other day. Great to see your work and some 00n3 in the mainstream.
Andy Cundick Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 Thanks its the first of my Irish narrow gauge layouts to get into print, both the standard gauge ones have been in Model Rail, funnily enough my North British layout will be in there shortly and my Welshpool layout has just been photographed for BRM,so theres an Irish a Scottish and a Welsh layout, there has to be a joke in there somewhere.Andy 3 1
Patrick Davey Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Fantastic layout Andy and fair play for recreating a less familiar prototype. Great job. Great photos from CN as well and a good write up, apart from a geographical slip in one of the photo captions
Andy Cundick Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 The writeup is a bit odd,as Chris refers to "adding bits of plastic to the locos" whereas 4 and 5 are both scratchbuilt in brass, the railcar is a Worsley kit on a Halling chassis, the Beyer is a Gem kit on a Branchlines chassis and the Kerr Stuart is a Meridian kit on an Arnold TT Kof shunter chassis the only thing i did to the Kof is remove the body,no plastic was used on any of the stock as all the rolling stock is brass as well.still as you say Chris does do a good photo,Andy
jhb171achill Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 One of my favourite layouts of all time, having seen it “in the flesh” twice. Captured the spirit of the real thing perfectly.
Dun Aucht Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Castlederg station photographed July 31st July 2021. 5
jhb171achill Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 One of the better preserved stations of the Irish narrow gauge. Note the similarities with Clogher valley and Cavan & Leitrim architecture.
