Broithe Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 On the radio, Round the Horne - the pictures were better than the telly. On the telly, The Likely Lads, it was virtually a documentary... [video=youtube;sqoNs1aL-CI]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqoNs1aL-CI Quote

Blu Bianco Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) You can't beat a bit of Partridge http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKmCgwCa1kM He must have seen Pat Kenny at some point, regarding his earlier series 'Knowing Me, Knowing You', uncanny and scary resemblances........ Broithe Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I used to work with a chap that even looked like him - one day, he stayed behind after work to nick some wood. In the dark he stepped on a nail through a plank and it just hurt too much to get his foot off. He was on his own, three hundred yards from help and the plank was ten foot long - he could only move about an inch at a time - he realised that he would never make it before he passed out and managed to get a rope over each end of the plank and take the weight on his shoulder, walking it like a skier all the way to the Security Hut. They had to saw the ends off the plank to get him in the ambulance.. How we laughed. Quote

Garfield Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 (edited) Brilliant stuff... longtime fan of Patridge/Coogan. Also a huge fan of Chris Morris' work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV7AZfllTGs Edited February 2, 2013 by Garfield Quote
Broithe Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 (edited) On The Hour used to be on the radio, straight after the Six O'Clock News - if you missed the join, it was even funnier - top stuff. Contains very early Partridge and, coincidentally, a buffer-strike event... Edited February 2, 2013 by Broithe Quote
Blu Bianco Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 (edited) Brilliant stuff... longtime fan of Patridge/Coogan. Also a huge fan of Chris Morris' work Morris, I very much agree. He is a genius, always very close to the edge but not just for the sake of it, like some others I will not mention. He had genuine issues to highlight, his views on the pointless and annoying endless intros to news programmes, newscasters standing up and walking around the studio like fools......the list is endless.......and all very accurate. It makes you laugh but also it is quite sad because it shows up what news media is like now. Take a look at the clock part in this clip, then 'the winds of change' outro. The hilarious puns which the news media think are clever: Git Surfing......'Menacing a helpless codger' haha Edited February 2, 2013 by Blu Bianco Quote
