The local RNLI were asked over to Buckingham Palace in recognition of their fund raising efforts over the last 30 years. The raft races organised are great fun. A long way to go for a sarnie and quiche,  but well done supporting a wonderful institution which is common to both islands.

I was reminded of this when a RNLI crew from somewhere in South West Ireland were on the boat to Holyhead - heading for Poole to pick up their new boat!

One of the party that went over would have a fairly substantial appetite so I can imagine him legging it to somewhere else after that for a top up!

You'll notice that the majority of these are fairly bland, so that people don't end up with bad breath after eating.
