Railway Station Plans

Does anyone know if Irish Rail will give out architectural drawings of their railway station buildings and other rail infrastructure if you wanted to model a specific station? In the alternative, are they friendly enough to approach if you wanted to measure the footprint a station building? Does anyone have any experience in this area?

I've taken a look through local authority planning applications and there is not much there that is easily accessible.

Many thanks in advance.

Most stations have a “fire exit plan” on the wall somewhere. Depending on the station you wanted you could just travel to that station and take a picture of said plan

You'd probably be better off trawling the archives of the IRRS?

E.g., Ballybrophy.

It might be worth while contacting the relevant Irish Rail "Infrastructure Managers' Office https://www.irishrail.ie/en-ie/about-us/iarnrod-eireann-infrastructure/infrastructure-contact-details

CIE used to be helpful to enthusiasts/modellers requests for drawings of locos, stock, buildings and structures.

As far as I recall (1970s-80s) drawings for buildings and structures were held at the regional Civil Engineers (Infrastructure managers) offices and enthusiasts were allowed to view drawings by appointment, though digital copies may be available these days.

Along with the fire exit idea, google maps has a measure distance feature so you can get length and width pretty easily as long as there are set area's of roof (and not an overall canopy)
