Modellers waiting for our all-new, highly detailed Mark 1 56ft 11' coaches will be pleased to know the BR Blue and Yellow Accurascale Exclusives tool van have arrived in stock!

Dispatch is well underway by our warehouse team with both direct and trade customer orders almost complete.

I do like these formation guides, they help a lot in selecting which stock to acquire, or prioritise!

I would love to see one done for Irish rolling stock too--for the 1960s-1990s especially for me--part of the fun is trying to work it out for ourselves from books showing scenes from yesteryear, but often the coaching stock is less visible than the loco, and not all captions are so detailed.

With the recent and imminant IRM CIE/IE/IR coaches, I'd love to see something similar done for Ireland 🙂

IRM have done some Irish formation guides. There's one here for their IR/IE Mk2s

and there's another for the NIR stock somewhere too

Hi Keith,

The issue with older Irish coaches etc as very few ever documented numbers, and even fewer photographed the coaches in a train, it always tended to be loco focused. So, the lack of information really hinders us doing them for stuff from the 50s, 60s, 70s 80s etc.

Famously Class 31 hauled London suburban and outer services out of Kings Cross and Moorgate to destinations in Herts and Cambridge from the 60s until the services was electrified from the mid 70s onwards. 

Slam Door Compartment and High Density stock seemed to be popular with both passengers and operating staff for London (and Biirmingham) suburban/outer suburban services until replaced with MK3 stock although Mersey Side and the North East had graduated to "modern" sliding door saloon electric stock from the 1920s onwards.

Ah. I’ve always had a liking for class 31s. Might have consider a temporary renaming of Dugort Harbour, Co Kerry, as Little Wolding on Trent, Suffockshire, Republic of Brexitstan….  cue an invasion of BR 2MT, 4MT, Black 5s, and class 101 railcars…..
